I grew up in the philly suburbs, moved to the city for college and have lived here ever since so I know this area very well.

Overview

-Bars close at 2. A few after hour places but the majority of them are weak and all the talent will be gone by 2.

-College Girls- From my experience Villanova/St Joes/ Upenn girls are the most attractive. Temple and LaSalle are in horrible parts of the city and pretty girls don’t like to venture out there so less talent there (exceptions of course). Drexel is hit or miss.

-Besides the under 22 crowd, there are a bunch of grad, med and law schools so you’ll have girls up to their late 20’s here. Since there are so many med schools you’ll see a good amount of Asians and east Indians here.

-Many people move out of the city after college. Its not as common to see a 31yo single gal living in the city as you would in New York. Therefore if you want older you’ll have to look to the suburbs.
-Speaking of NYC- its about 2 hours away and has an effect on the city. A lot of the most attractive women that grew up in the philly suburbs move to NY instead of philly. This leads to a lack of stunners that you routinely see in other large cities.

-Girls here aren’t really into working out as much as I’d like

-Girls here are pretty approachable. Don’t expect to get blown out right away like you would in other places. Girls here will at least hear you out. If you’re boring them after 5 minutes then they’ll turn away.
Without further ado, I’ve broken it down into 3 locations. I will also give a star rating 1-5.


Old City
By the Delaware river. This area gets pretty poppin on the weekends. Fairly dead during the week.

1) Blue Martini- different than blue martinis elsewhere. Can get a little sketchy at times. Girl quality is average. Dress to impress. **

2) Cuba Libre- If you’re into latina chicks this might be your best bet. Restaurant during the day and dance club at night. Dress code enforced- my friend was not allowed in because he had sneakers on. ***

3) Plough and the Stars-white, late 20’s early 30’s. Expect to hear top 40 and some classic rock. Usually lacking talent. *

4) National mechanics- kind of hipster so not my thing. Easy to talk here however **

5) Lucy’s Hat shop- dancing all over drunk fest on weekends. Dead during the week. Quality varies wildly. Have had good nights here. **

6) 32 Degrees: worth checking out. Solid Lounge. ***


Center City-
1) Ladder 15- Go to spot. Expect to pay some kind of cover(its philly so its always 20 or less though). ****

2) Rumor- dance club. 20 dollar cover. Have seen the Eagles players party here. Loud so tough to talk but above average quality. The most attractive girl in philly that I got from night game, I met here. ****

3) Whisper- This place has changed its name several times. Used to be called Denim. Similar to Rumor in terms of quality, however can be sketchy. Open till 3. ***

4) Public House- bar/lounge place. Has the best quality in philly IMO. Happy hour is hit or miss but usually crowded on weekends. Highly recommended. *****

5) G Lounge- Interesting place. Upscale. A lot of east indian, Pakistani girls come here(probably because the play hip hop). Med school hangout. Quality is usually good. Social circle can be an issue however ****

6) Tavern on Broad- Hit or miss. Some times I’ve been approached and other nights I’ve got nothing so you can roll the dice if you’d like. Quality varies wildly. 95% white people here. ***

7) Byblos: Hookah bar, very diverse- many indian. I have been here many times and had some luck. Thursdays and Sundays were good here. ***

8) Vango: right next to Byblos. Has a “skybar” rooftop which you need to buy a drink to get up to. Mainly black crowd. **

9) Continental- large place. Has rooftop lounge which is good in the summer. Not too loud so good place to talk. ***

10) Time- 2 levels- upstairs is very very dark. I got a girls number and met here for drinks 2 days later and did not recognize her. Worth checking out. ***

11) Raven Lounge- unique place, girls are usually pretty ugly. I’m mentioning because they have board games that everyone plays at the bar- jenga, connect 4. This has led to sets opening on their own; I’ve had girls just start talking to me here so might want to pop your head in. Also stripper pole upstairs. Ladder 15 is down the street if it’s dead. **


Manayunk. Wed- Sat
Manayunk is full of kids either in college (usually St Joes or Villanova) or just graduated. The quality is good but in my experience the girls typically like to stay in their social circle. They will know a ton of people at any given venue so its strange for them to talk to people they don’t know. However, if you must….

1) Dereks- Lounge type place you can actually talk in. Expensive but worth checking out. ***

2) Kildares- Every girl you meet in here is probably 23 or under. Huge place with several floors. Has a dance floor. Band on the 3rd floor. ***

3) Mad River- The music is so loud in this place you will literally have to scream for anyone to hear you. Its dark and its crowded. Expect the attention span of an ant. Have never had any luck except with social circle connections. Recommend avoiding. *

4) Manayunk Brew Pub- recommend. Not super loud, large bar area. Friendly people. Probably best place to run game in the manayunk area. ***

5) Bayou- Very young crowd. good warm up place because the drinks are cheap. 1 dollar drinks on Thursdays. Girls are usually friendly here compared to other manayunk places. ***

6) Bourbon Blue- hard to find but its off main street toward the schuykill river. Can get lucky with cuties. Tends to be an older crowd for manayunk- which means 25-30. **


Miscellaneous
1) Xfinity Live: right by the stadiums Great place to watch sports. Expect the guy girl ratio to be 80:20.
2) Conshohocken- a town 20 min outside the city. West on 76 past manayunk. Older crowd- 30+. There are 2 bars worth checking out- boathouse and great American pub. Have had moderate success at Great American Pub.

Daygame spots- Either Rittenhouse Square or Love Park area- during the summer everyone goes there during lunch break.

Overall- don’t expect to see a lot of 10’s in philly. You will see a lot of average to fairly attractive girls. Cockblocking is not too bad here and bitch shields can be present but usually can be penetrated. The girl- guy ratio in philly is actually good. More girls than guys live in the city so that is definitely a plus here. Definitely not as difficult as some other locations. To put it best for the members of this forum- its DC quality minus the bitchiness.

Center city is your best option and if you have any kind of game you can at least get numbers there. If you’re here during St Patty’s Day- do Erin Express. You will thank me later.

Really nice sheet. There is a 50% chance that I will be spending a significant amount of time in Philadelphia over the next few months, so although I am somewhat familiar with the city, this sheet should come in handy.

I agree. The Philadelphia Cuba Libre location was the first one. The Atlantic City location, which I like but has too small of a dance floor, came later. Some poster a few weeks back was mentioning a difficulty with getting Hispanic girls in Philadelphia. I wanted to respond to him, but I forgot to. A really good source which I found there was a place which was originally called Rock Lobster that changed its name to Octo. Every Sunday night during the summer they had a big salsa party with a band. There were great dancers in the place and bitch shields were very low. Almost all the girls were either Puerto Rican or white. The place was definitely in existance two summers ago. I don't know about the summer of 2012 or if it will be going in the summer of 2013.

Nice data sheet

Being from Dirty Jersey I've known a few left over party girls that rave about Philly and have all lived there at some point. These are girls that missed the marriage boat but still wanna party in the bar scene. Beware. You may see lots of 30+ South Jersey Trash there on the weekends. The North Jersey crowd usually hits NYC.

There's also The Atlantic City Expressway that connect Philly with AC. It's about an hour drive. May also be buses to take you.

Philly has Sugarland Casino if you're looking for some local gambling.

Rittenhouse Square, during the day, can be great. Around all the vegan spots etc.. There are a ton of 8+ girls.

If you're not the zero-testosterone, hipster type, like most of the guys they meet down there, you can really clean up pretty easily.

Seriously, if you're in decent shape, dress well, and exude confidence, Rittenhouse is one the places you can get laid with almost no real effort, by 7+ ho's. There almost no competition on the male side in this city, compared with any other large city I've been in.

Do you mean Sugarhouse? These 300-pound women kept talking about it on my return flight from Las Vegas to Philadelphia a few months back. That's the only reason I have heard of it.

I have been to some places, heard of others, and some I have never heard of. I'm going to reference this data-sheet directly the next time I'm in Philadelphia.

I have vouched for Cuba Libre on 2nd Street before on the forum. I think it's probably top 3 place I've been to in Philadelphia. If we're talking strictly about latinas, I haven't seen better in Philadelphia.

I also had an issue coming to the door with nice sneakers, but I was able to get in after a minute of talking to the bouncer.

South Street has gotten real "alternative", if you know what I mean. On the positive side though, it's still pretty cool with the shops, restuarants, and bars, and def. still a hotspot for young people.

I would still say though its much more of a cool place to visit day-time rather than a hardcore nightlife spot.

South Street is an interesting place. Its basically a mix of hipsters and black crowd. If those are the types of girls you are attracted to then I recommend it. If you're interested in preppy white girls (like myself) then this is not the area. While you can find them on south street, they will be in much higher quantity in center city and manayunk.
South street is worth checking out though.

1) Fat Tuesday: Temple girls love this place for some reason which is odd because its not particularly close to their campus. Front opens up to the outside- good place to day drink **

2) Tavern 222: small bar which is really hit or miss. I've been here on a weekend night when it was empty and I've been here when it was packed with 10 hot girls dancing on top of the bar. **

3) Paddywhacks: I was there last night. 2 levels- upstairs was a sausage fest. Downstairs had 2 large groups of girls of 8-10 members each. Me and my buddy successfully infiltrated one of said groups. ***

4) Twisted Tail: upstairs has live band. Place has very eclectic style and has many signature drinks with bourbon, brandy and absinthe. Worth checking out if you like different kinds of drinks. Girls are nothing to write home about **

5) Tattooed moms: Hipster joint. Unattractive Girls. Recommend avoiding with the fire of a thousand suns. *

6) Copabanana- not a huge place but girls get crazy here for some reason. My friend got a BJ in the bathroom from a girl he knew for 15 min. There is also a copabanana near Upenn. ***

I understand Shampoo closed, which was the main place to find freaky/goth chicks. I'm sure someplace else will pick up the slack. Is Ulanna's off South Street still open? It used to be a good place where even an older dude like myself could eye the candy and not get snarled at.

I've had good luck at Public Bar in City Center and can definitely attest to the fact that Philly girls are some of the friendliest i have ever seen. They were actually approaching me during happy hour which never happens in Washington, DC and the ratio was favorable in every bar I went to. Highly recommended!

Philly22, great job on the datasheet. I just finished up a 3 year stint in Philly and this is spot on. I'm also a native and never really thought I would come back once I left college but I made the best of my time there. I felt like DC had much more of a selection of cool bars but I still have yet to find a place like Ladder 15 that has produced quality women for me. When I lived a few blocks from Rittenhouse, I'd go to Ladder a couple of nights per week, and regularly run into players from the Flyers or Eagles out for a few beers on a week night.

LowercaseG, there are a lot of Black chicks in Philly but it was very rare to see them on the street or meet them out on weekends in bars I went to. The quality Black girls I met there were usually through meetup groups, online, or occasionally a friend of a friend. Now I live in Atlanta and the quantity of black women that I like (slim, college educated) is much higher but I still have trouble finding them on the weekends.

I used to go to G-Lounge all the time on Saturday nights and there was always a good mixed crowd with non-ghetto black girls (and girls from every other race it seemed except Hispanics).

However that was a couple years back and I am not sure if its the same now. That would be where I would go first though. The black girls there are usually looking for a non-black guy it seems.

Confirm that if you are well-dressed man in the Rittenhouse area it is very easy to pick up women compared to almost any other major city. There are def way more girls than guys in this town. Bitch shields are very low/non-existent, I would say I have gotten dates from a half-dozen girls 9 or better over the years just chatting them up on the street or outdoor cafe. Even girls who have moved out the 'burbs for cheaper rent/safety/space will generally come into town often to party/dine/hang out. Lotsa NJ girls come to town also from Cherry Hill and central/SoJersey.

Cuba Libre, as noted, is a top notch place. It's a shame Shampoo closed, Stoya used to go there for years, you could pick up hot goth girls no problem. Starlight Ballroom definitely is a place to check out, and I've seen alt/goth nites there as well, and the crowd was good. North Star Bar has good live shows and is a smaller venue.

After hours you have Zee Bar next to Delilah's high-end strip club, which is very nice, you can pick up regular girls here as well as hot strippers who often come here after work to hang with friends and get drunk. A newer AH place is Lit Ultrabar which is hosting Super Mash Bros in May and BT this month. It is loud as hell in there. They also just opened a Barcade recently in NoLiberties which is the hipster area, for good or ill.

SugarHouse is so ghetto its not even funny, not that it stops me from gambling there.

An overlooked resource is the nicer hotel bars. They are often full of ez-to-open 7-8s from both out of town and local. I guess most local guys wouldn't even think to look there, so they are missing out.

Near any of the Unis are the classic college bars like Smokey Joe's, Mad Mex, Cavanaugh's, New Decketc. You really can't go wrong at any of these if that's what you are looking for near Penn/Drexel or Nova/StJoes.

Other bars worth checking out are Public House, Drinker's Pub, Std Tap, Monk's, Tria Cafe, Oyster House, etc. There are also fun karaoke bars in Chinatown.

The 2 bars mentioned in Conshy are good for the 26-30 crowd. Blackfish right next door is a top-rated restaurant.

everytime i go there i gourge myself on cheesesteaks and hoagies to the point where i am putting my heart on overdrive when i consume those incredibly delicious sandwiches. that may not seem like a postive endoursement of philly but until you have eaten their cheesesteaks and hoagies in my book you havent lived.

When you come back to Baltimore, they have real cheesesteaks there now. It only took about fifty years.
