Leftist global icon Lula, once dubbed by Obama "his idol, a man he absolutely loves" is embroiled in a massive, nation-wide corruption scandal!

To sum it up:
Brazilian ex-president Lula has been caught red-handed in massive corruption and public-money appropriation scandals, drawing into the scandals his protegee, socialist female Dilma. Those 2 were until a few weeks ago the absolute icons of the global Left ... now, the police has discovered a vault of gold and jewels in Lula's "humble man" house, and also a whole 3-storey luxury resort building - bought with black, illegal money.



Dilma is currently trying to offer immunity to Lula, by urgently naming him Prime-Minister (leader of the Casa civil)... but last night, she was recorded admitting that she's trying to shield him from the Law - by offering him blank (non-dated) nomination documents (to be used "em caso de necesidade")... The Brazilian people are up in arms and manifesting by millions, these days, against those 2 leftist, corrupted leaders... while the Real is tumbling down...

By the way, it's also a new proof that Brazil is very, very deeply divided between socialist-leaning, Afro-descendant North (supporting Lula and Dilma) and the hard-working, productive South (of mainly European descent). You know the stupid thing? People knew for years that Lula went from low-middle class to billions because of the party and the presidency and only know they are associating it with crime. It's absolutely ridiculous. PT is not a political party it's a feudal master. Though the same can be said for the other parties and even the current biggest opposition party PSDB whose leader seems to be also involved in the "Lava-Jato" case.

As usual, corruption is rife, people have no idea of the magnitude. But it's so widespread, they make us south europeans seem very transparent in comparison

Is it possible for a president's approval rating to go below 0? I know Dilma is in the low single-digits, but this keeps getting worse and worse.

I don't think many members here know how much of a scourge PT and the left in Brazil is. Think much worse than the democrats, they are full on SJWs not only regarding economics but also social issues and they strongly lean in favour of feminism and other deplorable groups such as LGBT. But fortunately a large chunk of brazillian society is not only relatively conservative/traditionally oriented but also extremely non PC. If Bolsonaro eventually becomes the brazillian president you can see all of that regressing Bolsonaro, I've mentioned him before, in a way he is the brazillian Trump except for being uber rich, but his persona is even more extreme than Trump. He's a former army guy and he's tough physically and a tough talker too. He's been getting a lot of support for his no nonsense approach against politicians and criminals (which SJW lefties always try to protect).

Hope it does change. A wonderful country like Brazil can't be spoiled by those people...

CNN has just (at last!) put this story on his frontpage, but, half an hour ago, it was relegated in a small left-hand column, reading "Strange twist in Brazil's political intrigue"... yeah, sure, the biggest corruption scandal in South America, for CNN it's just a "strange twist"

Yeah even people I know in favor of LGBT rights drop the word "viado" (faggot) & make gay jokes all the time in Brazil.

The true new wave PC people I know in Brazil (Rio de Janeiro) really suck though. This one Rio de Janeiro girl criticized me for being a "racist" American when I referred to another chick as "Mexican" explaining "people of all colors living in the US need to be referred to equally as Americans."

She then turned around and criticized all these "Chinese" in her city while not referring to them as Brazilians. As an Asian guy, I don't really give a crap but that's a dumb SJW hoe talking out of both ends of her ass.

Regarding economics, these "PT" supporters passionately back Lula/Dilma because of the "small" handouts being given to the unfortunate regarding educational opportunities, etc.

They however don't have any response when I mention this PT government is simultaneously screwing over the same "unfortunate" people via lack of social services and stealing money that NEEDS to go into infrastructure, healthcare, public safety, and aforementioned education.
