How much should I charge to write an essay for a client? I am just starting out so I don't want to scare the cat off with some obscene amount.
Please list a reasonable amount.

I used to charge 1 pound for 100 words in the UK but we have inflation now.

Please advise.

Charge $10-$20 per double spaced page. This is typical of essay writing services. You can charge more if the essay requires 1) specialized knowledge, 2) research.

Where I'm from that's a little expensive. $5 per double-spaced page... $10 if there's a lot of citations.

Sometimes charging more is more effective. The reverse psychology allows the person to justify that this overcharge must mean that the person is excellently qualified to be charging such an amount.

For example, I charged $40/hour for a similar service and the cash wasn't bad. I then placed an ad charging $90/hour for the exact same service. Guess what? I had more requests for my service at $90 than I did at $40. If I had the audacity to charge such an amount for my services, then people justified it by thinki I must be super qualified for what I was charging them for.

I think the OP is talking about a specialized form of essay writing, i.e. academic writing. Since grades are at stake in this, it would make sense to pay more for genuine quality.

Hm I always ordered an essay (I rarely wrote it myself), as it turns out not well enough and there was not so much time in student time. I remember it with a shudder, it's good that I got an education and just work

As someone who had experience with many essay writers, I would recommend to not try to save money when it comes to essay writing tasks.
Most "cheap" essay writers are crap. They probably send your essay to someone in India or Pakistan. I use a company called Peachy Essay. They normally charge around $100 per 1,000 words. But their work is really good. I got a friend of mine who did his whole bachelor degree dissertation with them.

Apparently Unemployed Professors is pretty good. They allow you to post a "job", then they'll have various "professors" (legit academics) bid on it. So you always have options.
