I really didn't want to believe he did these things, but who can really deny it? I love a lot of his music(mainly the older stuff). "Don't stop till you get enough" and "Off the Wall" are two of my favorite songs ever made. But how can you enjoy that stuff knowing what he did?

He was certainly a very, very odd person. I also suspect, heavily, that he was very strange in his personal dealings with children. Going as far as saying he almost definitely exposed his genitals etc.

Thriller was a great album, I have it in my rotation in my car - that said, a lot of the best tunes were actually written by Rod Temperton! 'Baby Be Mine' is a brilliant song, so catchy, but wasn't written by MJ.

'Paedophile' is an overused word these days, often encompassing men who are attracted to, say 15 year old fully developed girls who are actually (biologically) no different to 18 year old girls. However, regardless of gender, it appears Jackson was actually a proper paedo/pedo and his genius shouldn't overlook the (basically) factual evidence of what he did.

The Smoking Gun had the transcript of the deposition of the kid from the first payoff. Let's just say the kid talked about things that no child could have been coached into saying (which is what his defenders, enablers and apologists like to say). He paid off that kid because he didn't want the gory details coming out in a court of law. He didn't fuck the kid, but getting naked, touching, and I believe he had oral contact with the kid's genitalia is bad enough. His own defense of having sleepovers with kids that are almost in their teens as "cute," or something to that effect gave you some insight into his where Mike was mentally. His telling the kid that this was "their secret" lets you know that he knew what he was doing was wrong, so while I felt a little sorry for him at one time, and understood he was the product of a fucked-up childhood, if you're damn near 50 you have to take responsibility and get some help. I never had any doubt that Mike was a pedo. YEARS ago, I felt he should sell Neverland and get out of the country, which he did for a while in Dubai I believe. It also shows you the power fame has over the masses. Even after all of the accusations of weirdness, parents still allowed their kids to have sleepovers with that weird motherfucker. It's almost as if they HOPED their kid would get freaked by Mike, so they could get paid too. The family and others should have told Mike NO MORE SLEEPOVERS after he had to pay that first kid off. If you can't control yourself, stop putting yourself in situations where you might want to fondle another kid. There's nothing cute about a grown-ass man having sleepovers, unless it's at the Playboy Mansion with a half dozen playmates. But no one ever tried to set him straight. I guess when your living depends on the guy, you aren't looking to spoil that. Shit...fly to the Philippines or Thailand for an appearance, and have boys smuggled into your room at night or something. However, family should have stepped in. It doesn't shock me in the least that there were payoffs that were kept off the radar. When you look back over his life, he seemed to connect best with animals (Muscles the snake, Bubbles the chimp), and children, carrying Emanuel Lewis around like a little doll. Chilling with a young Macauley Culkin. He was definitely arrested mentally.

LaToya is crazy as fuck, but that doesn't mean she was lying. She wrote/talked about Joe Jackson molesting some of the daughters. Rebbie, the oldest girl, got the fuck out of Dodge at the first opportunity. I believe Janet was spared, but as soon as she could break away she did (that's what "Control" was about). The sad thing is, mom knew about it. LaToya said her mom would plead, "Joe, leave the girls alone tonight," or something to that effect.

He had a pretty sad life. I remember an article where he would wander the streets alone after his "Thriller" album just trying to talk to someone. Not justifying what he did, but I think he clearly had some development issues.

I was watching Howard Stern interview week ago with Scott Thorson (Behind the Candelabra: My Life With Liberace) the majority of interview was about Michael Jackson. This story is on the front page of the NY Daily News today also. I haven't sat down to read it yet. I think many excused MJ's weirdness and issues with children because of his talent and musical contributions. "Billie Jean" opened up the possibilities to other artists regarding what you could do with music videos. All of his video premieres were events - you rushed home to watch "Friday Night Videos" when you knew MJ was dropping another gem. "Thriller" was the first long-form video. "Smooth Criminal" had some of the tightest shit in it, and broke new ground. "Remember the Time" had all kinds of celebs in it, including Magic Johnson. But with each successive album cover, you could see him sinking deeper into madness.

I've always thought of pedophilia as a mental illness that isn't treated correctly when a nonce is thrown away for however many years.

You can throw someone in prison for their actions or possessing child pornography, but at the end of the day they're sexually attracted to kids. Putting them in a cell for 10 years or so isn't going to change that in the same way that if you put a straight man in prison, he'll still be attracted to women (unless he really liked taking showers ) when he leaves and gay men will still be attracted to men when they leave.

It's a mental health issue and needs to be treated as such.

I've seen the damage that neglect or abuse can have on kids. I've met fuked in the head orphans from the massive nurseries in the FSU now 12 years and fuked up out of their minds. MJ literally had his childhood stolen from him, he was forced to be a adult to early and put in more effort and time into his craft then 99% of others.

The over sexualized tendencies is common in these types of folks and though I don't want to believe it was true I do believe that he attempted to break free from his demons later on in his life. He attempted to convert to Islam and a means to get some balance, he attempted to practice buddhism I believe also. Maybe to little to late he wasn't that old when he passed either.

I do look at it in a different context though. His man had his childhood taken away, he did also possibly hurt other kids too but some reason I don't view is blantly as some old predator and I am not sure why yet.

If I was accused of being a paedophile there is no way on earth I would settle out of court, what the fuck! If some kid said I'd molested him I'd want my day in court to prove I was innocent, not do as MJ did and pay for their silence.
