A van has crashed into dozens of people in Barcelona's city center, Spanish media reported.
Authorities are looking for the driver of the vehicle, who escaped on foot, according to El Nacional.

The incident occurred on the famous La Rambla, a street popular for tourists visiting the city.

A person has tweeted that they are currently stuck in a restaurant following the incident, adding that armed police are "everywhere."

To be fair, National police and Guardia civil have had a consistent track record in local media outlets (so take it with a grain of salt) having struck and disassembled many terror cells.
Then again Barcelona is more it's own thing than a part of Spain or even Catalonia...

So sad. I was staying in that area earlier this month. Barcelona is a beautiful city with a great vibe.

I was daygaming and pulled a girl. We got a juice at cafe nearby this incident.

In the past, we need to think about the daygame approach. Now we have to take precautions if a van is driving on the sidewalk. This is really fucked up.

Ya, if they're getting a lot of these in the planning stages that's great and all. I'd be happier if they'd just stop letting them in and deport the however many hundreds of thousands of the fuckers are here illegally.

There's a lot of places like Ramblas in Spain - lots of shared pedestrian/vehicle spaces (often due to grandfathered in underground parking on a pedestrian street).

Hell, the street I live on is just like that. Avoid crowded places. :/
