If you go to Sao Paulo, the club to check out is D-Edge on Thursday nights. I think it might even be a gay club or something like that when it's not Thursday, but Thursday night it' so prime. Lots of hot women. The best Dj's in town. Great light show. They have lights on the ceiling, walls and floors. Deffinitely the best night club I went to in all of Brazil.

I know this is a really old post but I have to concur that D:Edge is a really good club. I don't think it's ever a gay club. I used to go on Mondays and it was always packed with good looking, well educated, English speaking girls who love the gringos. Music is rock and indie on Monday nights. The best thing about this club is the roof top terrace where people go to hang out and smoke, great views of the city and you can freely chat to girls without the noise getting in the way. Lots of success here, girls are very approachable.

Early 20s would be the average on a Monday night on other nights they can go into the 30s age group. There are some biggroups but most are just 2 or 3 girls, I wouldn't approach otherwise. It's really easy either way if you approach on the rooftop, it's a pretty sociable place.

I've had more success in D:Edge than any other club in Sao Paulo and more luck in SP than any other city in the world probably.

I would definitely like to move to SP for various reasons, not just including the nightlife and girls.

D-Edge is one of the biggest house music clubs in SA, all the best touring DJ's get booked there

Haven't been here yet but I hear it is nice. However, one of my local Brazilian friends (who is a playa to the core) told me 'it is a club for gays' and to stop reading stupid Lonley Planet books LOL

It's Sao Paulo mate, it has the biggest openly gay community in the world so there's gays in almost every club. Clubs here tend to be 'gay friendly' so you'll have a mix of straight and gay people in most places. Personally don't recall seeing many obviously gay guys in D:Edge on Mondays or some of the other nights I've been there midweek (possibly Wed and Thursday but I don't recall) but it may have gay nights. Just check the website before you go to see what's on.
