Trump Curse Strikes Again: Actress Felicity Huffman Arrested In College Bribery Case
http://fortune.com/2019/03/12/loughlin-h...dmissions/
Quote:Felicity Huffman, Lori Loughlin Are Among 40 Celebs, CEOs Arrested in a College Admissions Cheating Scandal
A who’s who of famous names, from actresses to CEOs [READ: DEMOCRATIC DONORS], have been arrested as part of a national college admissions cheating scam, according to court records unsealed in Boston Tuesday.
Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin are among the more than 40 people arrested for paying bribes to get their children into elite schools, including Georgetown, Stanford, UCLA, and Yale.
The scam said prosecutors, arranged for children to be recruited as athletes, regardless of their athletic abilities. Academic officials, including the former women’s soccer coach at Yale University, are also facing charges.
“Beginning in or about 2011, and continuing through the present, the defendants—principally individuals whose high-school age children were applying to college—conspired with others to use bribery and other forms of fraud to facilitate their children’s admission to colleges and universities in the District of Massachusetts and elsewhere, including Yale University, Stanford University, the University of Texas, the University of Southern California, and the University of Southern California-Los Angeles,” an affidavit supporting the indictment said.
Also named in the indictment are William E. McGlashan Jr., founder and managing partner of TPG Growth, a Silicon Valley investment fund, wine baron Agustin Huneeus, Robert Zangrillo, CEO of venture firm Dragon Global, Gordon Caplan, co-chairman of the notable law firm Willkie, Farr & Gallagher, Elisabeth Kimmel, owner of Midwest Television and a board member at Ballast Point Brewing and former Pimco CEO Doug Hodge.
The bribes reportedly went as high as $6 million. The children, generally, did not realize their admission was due to a bribe.
Huffman, who starred on TV’s Desperate Housewives and her spouse, actor William H. Macy, allegedly “made a purported charitable contribution of $15,000…to participate in the college entrance exam cheating scheme on behalf of her eldest daughter. Huffman later made arrangements to pursue the scheme a second time, for her younger daughter, before deciding not to do so.”
Loughlin, who most recently starred on the Netflix’s comedy Fuller House, and her husband are accused of agreeing to pay $500,000 in bribe to have their daughters recruited to the USC crew team, even though they had not previously participated in crew sports.
“The charges brought forth today are troubling and should be a concern for all of higher education,” the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) said in a statement Tuesday. “We are looking into these allegations to determine the extent to which NCAA rules may have been violated.”
Apparently some of these people tried to write off the bribes for tax deductions. Oh Lord, thank you.
LOL. I remember Felicity Huffman huffing and puffing about how she was joining the Women’s March.
It’s so great she’s marching for the little people while buying off college officials to jump ahead of those same little people!
Quote:”I'm going to the Million Women March in DC with my two daughters, and my sister and her daughter and their two grandchildren,” Ms Huffman said.
"I feel that the election was somewhat of a feminist issue. I feel like the best of us was bested by not the best of them."

But, but... I thought these brave "Liberal" celebrities were all for "inclusion" and "tearing down barriers". And now I learn with utmost surprise that they're sending their (pampered) children to private, walled-off, elitist colleges. Sad!

Au contraire. It's a lot bigger than a couple of virtue-signalling Hollywood women. This is huge.
It rips the mask off of "meritocracy," and all of the striving middle/upper-middle class are going to be outraged. There were hedge fund guys, big-firm lawyers and various other rich bastards in this.
People are going to look at this and think: these fuckers are like the Trumps and Kushners.
This should be in Politics, because it's going to play out in egalitarian politics.
Not disagreeing with you, but I have to ask: Does anybody in the USA believe in meritocracy anymore?

This is the big elephant in the room that no one wants to look at or talk about.
Red pill, indeed.

The USA is somewhere between "Hunger Games" and "Wheel of Fortune" for most people. Insane how ruthless and Darwinian things have become- one job loss, big medical bill, etc, can practically ruin a family overnight.
We're nearing a "Let them eat cake!" moment. The discontent is hot and palpable, like lava gradually filling a chamber before an eruption.
When average people have to read about CEOs using bags of cash to buy futures for their privileged children, futures that are totally inaccessible for the bottom 70% of the country, the chamber gets hotter and the pressure increases.
Eventually......

Once you see how deep this stuff runs, you should be able to rationally destroy the arguments of any SJW or person who is part of an ideal or group, and not standing on their own two feet as an individual willing to be judged on their merits and their own actions.
List of people virtue signalling or joining/preaching a movement, only to be found out to be doing sinister stuff behind closed doors or using it to push their own personal agenda:
Feminism - Felicity Huffman and college bribing
#Metoo - Asia argento and the underage boy thing
LGBT & Black Lives Matter - Jussie Smollett
Socialism - Ocasio Cortez and under the table payments to boyfriend, and tax reporting dodging going on by her staff by lowering overall salaries (also can't manage her own money and budgets so wants to take everyone elses)
Communism/Socialism/Nationalism - Russian leaders preach nationalism but siphon billions off into their own accounts and live like a kings while rural Russia lives in squalor.
Religion - catholic church and pedophiles, Islam and Allah not being able to be critiqued in some parts of Western countries
The lists go on and on and on and on.
Be aware of how the deception and sick games are being played (the worst parts are they pretend to be one thing but are really another, and they play on people's good intentions - it really is sick and weak as it gets), and keep it as verbal ammunition if you ever need to use it.

This will be the tip of the iceberg and I'm sure the same thing will be happening in the UK too. Absolutely disgusting. Not just because of the crime itself, but because of the hypocrisy and virtue-signalling around it all. Just when you think celebs/actors can't get any lower!
I'm reading now that ethnicity was faked as well to take advantage of affirmative action laws. Credibility is just crumbling now for so many things.
'Oh, you're an actor/actress? ..... bet you got there by granting sexual favours'
'Oh, you went to a prestigious university? .... bet you're rich parents faked and paid your way into it, you're probably an idiot'
'Oh, you're an athlete? ....bet you just take better drugs than the next guy'
'Oh, you're an award-winning journalist? ..... (head explodes!)'
etc.

The longtime coach of Yale University’s women’s soccer team allegedly accepted hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes to green-light two applicants for athletic scholarships to the Ivy — one of whom never even played the sport, according to bombshell federal court documents.
Rudy Meredith, coach of the team from 1995 through November 2018, was identified Tuesday as one of over 40 people — including TV actresses Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin — reportedly charged in a sweeping college admissions bribery scandal also reaching Georgetown, Stanford, UCLA and other schools.
William Rick Singer, owner of the California-based Edge College & Career Network prep business, pointed the father of one Yale hopeful to Meredith in November 2017, telling Meredith that the dad wanted to make a “donation” to “one of those top schools” for his daughter’s application, court filings charged.
The next day, Singer sent the applicant’s resume, personal statement and art portfolio to Meredith, who doctored the application to say that the teen was co-captain of a prominent California soccer team — even though she’d never set foot on the pitch competitively, the documents charge.
The edit allowed Meredith to designate the girl, who isn’t named in the filing, as a recruit for his team and, therefore, make her eligible for scholarship money to the prestigious Connecticut college.
After she was admitted in January 2018, Singer mailed Meredith a check for $400,000, according to the papers — which add that in the following months, Singer received around $1.2 million from the girl’s family.
In a separate incident, Meredith allegedly accepted $2,000 in cash toward a promised $450,000 payment for getting another man’s daughter admitted during an April 2018 meeting in a Boston hotel room, the papers charge.
It wasn’t immediately clear whether Singer had been charged.
Meredith faces federal charges of wire fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud, according to filings unsealed Tuesday.
As for Lori Loughlin, looks like she's holding up well at her age. WB
WNB Felicity Huffman.

RE: Actress Felicity Huffman Arrested In College Bribery Case
By the way, haven't the media, feminists, and every social justice whacko out there spent the last decade or so screeching that American university campuses are rape factories where the nation's unsuspecting, nubile daughters are lured to Bacchanalian parties, plied with (GASP) alcohol, and assaulted by nefarious fraternity dudebros such as Jock McKavanaugh and Chad Magahat?
So why are rich celebrities bribing their way and breaking the law to send their poor, innocent daughters to these wretched hives of scum and toxic masculinity?
