RE: hairstyles and cutting hair
I had a classic cut like the first picture, now growing it longer on top and keeping it short on the sides, I have something like Fujiwara's pic in mind

Growing it long (shoulder length). I'm bored of short hair and want something a little more edgy.

How long did it initially take to grow it out that long? I've always wanted long hair but I have never made the commitment. I haven't cut mine in 5-6 months and I have the classic shaggy hair look right now.

From a regular short hairstyle it takes about 2 years to grow it out long enough to tie back in a tail. You're talking a 3 inch tail. You have to keep trimming the back so the top and sides grow out.

Took me like 5 years to get my bangs to reach my nipples. Now I'm at the point of just keeping it trimmed at the ends and keeping it healthy looking. Believe me I get much more attention with long hair.

Damn, looks like I got a year and a half to go. Something I definitely have to do though before I start losing it.

it won't necessarily take 2 years. I started growing mine out in June 2011. In the back it's down to my shoulders, bangs are down to my chin. It'll probably be another 3 months before I can tie all of it back in a ponytail. Now I can get most of it tied back in a low tail, but the bangs aren't quite long enough. I'm almost certain that in another 6 months it'll be pretty damn long. I'd say that it takes a good 18 months or less to get a solid pony tail. However, my hair does grow really fast.

My hair is very wavy and curly. I like it medium length 2-4inches.

But I do have to straighten it if I want it to look cool. I use a 1/2inch straightener. Then I use product to achieve different looks.

I've been cutting my own hair in different styles for years. I started out doing basic buzz cuts with one length all around, then advanced to high and tight (short sides/slightly longer top), rocking a slick back at the moment with the hair about a 7 on top and 1 on the sides. Just an hour ago, I put a slit on one side of my slick back and it looks just as legit as any barber job. Once my hair gets a little longer on top, might attempt an undercut, although I have thick and wavy hair so not sure if I could control it. So yeah, cutting your own hair is easy and saves a lot of money if you look good with short hair, and you can even be creative.

RE: hairstyles and cutting hair
I'm on the road to baldness so I cut my own hair. No point paying someone to cut your hair if you only have like 30% of it left.

Being just a few days over 25 it's a bit of a downer getting grey hairs and a receding hairline but you just gotta own it. If someone gives me shit, that's not what his mother said. People at work think I'm at least a decade older than I am.

My baldness is a gift from God as I rolled shoulder length Jesus hair until it was too thin for my liking which is, funnily enough, about the time I stopped being a faggot.
