First of all the amount of numbers you get in a given time period really doesn't say anything about your game or the number of women you get with. Its easy to get numbers if that's what you're after and you'll get flaked on a lot. Instead you should be thinking about how strong of a connection you can form with a girl before she leaves.

There are only two situations where a number is going to lead to something from a cold approach.

The first is during the day when you talk to a girl you haven't met before and you get her to ask personal questions about you. Once she starts showing clear interest in who you are and what you do, the investment process begins and the longer you talk to her the better the chances are that you'll get her out. The second is when you've built solid attraction with a girl at a night venue, but a distraction (cockblockers, friends, cockblocking friends) keeps the interaction from continuing. Then you settle for the number and if you made a strong enough impression on her through sexual escalation she's likely to meet up with you again. If you get a number without going through either of those scenarios you'll get flaked on 95% of the time since it takes a lot of investment for a girl to meet up with a person she's only just met.
