Alright fellas I'm gonna give you a quick tutorial on how to make a quick $100-$150.

Apple is currently selling a new 3rd generation Apple TV on their website for $99 which means the previous model (Apple TV 2G) is selling used for about $50 if you can find one.

I've been finding them from local guys on craigslist.

Take the used 2G one, connect it to your wireless network and update its software to the latest Apple has to offer. V5.0.2. You can do it from the on screen menu.

Download Seas0npass and jailbreak it. It says V5.0.1 in the article but don't worry. It'll work.

Download Putty for Windows:

Connect your Apple TV to your wireless network and find its IP Address.

Run Putty.exe and connect to your Apple TV.

ssh [email protected] <~~insert your Apple TV's IP obviously

Enter the password alpine

Install Nito TV by entering the following commands into Putty:

apt-get update <press enter>
apt-get install com.nito.nitoTV <press enter>

Nito TV will install.
Reboot your Apple TV 2G by typing:
killall AppleTV into the Putty window.

Install Xbox Media Center by typing the following commands:

apt-get update <press enter>
apt-get install org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2

You can also install Xbox Media Center from the Nito TV menu if you wanted. I find it quicker and easier just to type two commands.

Type reboot.

That's it. You're done. You should have two new apps on your Apple TV main menu. Nito TV and XBMC.

Go on Ebay and you'll see them selling for like $170-$220 Jailbroken.

Post an ad and sell it for a quick $100-$150 profit.

Currently there is no jailbreak for the 3rd generation model. I'm sure they'll crack it in a month or so. So this is your chance to make some cash off this.

Interesting idea. I took a look at my local craigslist. Apple TV 2G are being offered for ~$150, and there are even a couple of wanted ads for Apple TV 2G, so it seems enough people are onto this that the profit margin is being arbed away.

You have to use Seas0npass to JB AppleTV. There's only 2 useful apps for it right now. NitoTV and XBMC(Xbox Media Center).

It's easy to do.

For iPhone/iPad you have to use Greenpois0n Absinthe. 1 click to jailbreak it.

You guys gotta get on this for real. I just picked up 2 more off craigslist. $40 and $70.
They're selling for $285 now on Ebay!! I'm cleaning up
