Since I can't afford a legit Armani watch, I was thinking of getting a replica that looks almost like the original. These replica watches are widely available on ebay. Would any of you suggest against buying it? This is the one I am planning to buy

You reckon it helps to close lizards? Or you just bought it cos you wanted one? I ask cos I have a few chains that were given to me as a gift and I wonder if I should throw a few on for peacocking. I hate chains (on myself).

I bought the watch when I still had a good office job years ago and had a good day on the stock market (options).
I never noticed a difference with girls back then but guys asked me about the watch.

I don't wear it much now but I have a meet up with a groupie tomorrow so i'll wear it to see if see notices it.

I never wear chains or rings. Not my style. (except my round the world bum necklace) I do like bracelets though.

I don't know if Armani watches cost less than $5 to make, but I do know they have a reputation with jewelers and pawn shops for being poor quality.

Unless you're wearing a Rolex, it won't really attract any extra attention whether it's a $30k watch or a $300 watch. People generally don't know what a Audemar, Patek, or Vacheron even is (most reputable watch houses).

Wear whatever looks nice and you can afford.


I'll add that unless you're stepping up to a quality made ETA movement (starts at a few thousand) or a modified or all in-house movement ($3k+ ie Rolex), spending LESS is the way to go as a quartz is a quartz and it just comes down to design.

Armani jacket yes. Armani watch,why the fcuk? Get a watch from a company with a long history and pedigree in producing stylish and well crafted time pieces. A company that has time pieces at its heart not as some add on to get some more cash in. Save up until you can afford a nice second hand Rolex ( new would be nice ) if you want to drop big on a quality watch,not a piece that is made in China, independent of the company, and then just has the name Armani stuck on the front.

I think that's out of his depth for now. He's talking about buying a replica version of a $350 watch. I'm all about getting a used Rolex for multiple reasons (one being it'll hold its value and possibly appreciate), but he's just trying to get something that looks nice and functions without denting the wallet. I say don't even bother saving for the real Armani when it's not even worth $100 let alone $350. I HATE replicas of anything, but in this situation who cares?

Agreed 100%. I don't understand why people buy anything replica. For a start it's obvious something is replica because it is never congruent with the rest of their clothing. Expensive items if you like them are there to be saved up for,to toil for and then when you finally get it,to enjoy wearing on certain occasions for years and years and then pass on one day to your kids. You get a thrill wearing them. People buy fakes thinking they will get the same thrill but they know they are wearing cheap shit so get no pleasure what so ever.

Fakes are for fakers. If you can't afford something,don't debase yourself into getting inferior goods. You are capable of more. Work to get more.

The problem with wearing a fake rolex is that you need to have the supporting life style with it. I have friends who wear fake rolex's costing up to 60 to 80 euros but one is out of work and doesn't dress the part and the other one is a truck driver.

Even if they would wear a brand new 10k Rolex, no one would believe them anyway. In my former job a 430 euro watch was totally believable. I wanted a more classy one from some Swiss maker but they were 650 euro and up for a basic model. I actually bought it in 2007 now that i think about it.

I have this one but I wish i didn't look. They are sold for half price now online.

I knew a guy who ran game wearing a hello kitty watch. I don't suggest it, but he was into the hipster crowd and it worked well for him.

As far as the fake Armani goes, you say you aren't financially stable... so why do you need a status symbol watch right now anyway? Solve the financial instability first.

I don't come from a moneyed family, and I am an international student in UK, so I am gonna be kinda broke for a while.

Tuthmosis, I am not really into hipster chicks. The reason why I am obsessing over Armani watches is because ever since I started wearing legit brand t-shirts like Armani Exchange, Calvin Klein & Tommy Hilfiger, I've been getting more attention from women than before. Right now, I have a dirt cheap skull-logo watch that has a huge face, looks really awkward since I have thin wrists.

Most fashion watches, including Armani are made by Fossil, and they came on to the UK market at 80 notes and the price has been rising steadily ever since. The watches are made in China for sweet FA and the only input the fashion houses have is final approval on aesthetic design. I happen to have failed abysmally to bang many chicks who work for Fossil seeing as loads of hot chicks work there, in the process I learnt a lot about their shitty made in china watches and if you paid 400 euro for one you are an idiot.
Personally I like decent watches so have a a few decent timepieces but the 70's timex snoopy watch is the only one chicks will be interested in.
