One of my buddies, an actual rocket scientist, just launched his own handmade belt company called Straps of Glory (http://www.strapsofglory.com/).

They have them available in three different stains for now at $50 a pop - free shipping - which is pretty reasonable. I usually get a belt each time I get a new pair of dress shoes so that I have a belt that matches.

1. It'd be awesome if he made a *red* leather belt. These are pretty hard to find. Red is the color of players, and people in red appear more attractive.

2. I'd love to see this style of buckle - it's very masculine, but it's hard to find except on belts double the price.

He might be able to do a red one. Just fill out a custom form and mention that as being what you want. He should get back to you with an answer. With red belts, what color shoes/pants do you pair them with?

My favorite belt is a European hole-less belt w/slide mechanism adjustment. Pretty freaking badass as the notches go up in .25 size increments (guessing?). Been looking forever in the USA for it, but couldnt find it. Online has it. http://www.slidebelts.com/. Incredibly durable and v. good looking. Have no relationship w/them whatsoever.

My belt came in yesterday and I wore it today. Overall, it was much less than I was expecting. For one, the inside of the belt (the side that you don't see when wearing it) looks horrible. There are white splotches all over it. It definitely does not have that smooth and polished finish that you would find from a belt in a store. Other than that, it holds very well. Heavy duty and thick. The outside of it looks fine.

just bought a belt this week and realized how hard it is to find one that fits just right, in terms of length and having hook ideally going through middle notch. don't think i have a single perfect fitted belt

I picked up a halfdozen handmade belts from a wholesaler when I was in Istanbul, beautiful things.

A bad belt will rip where a good belt finds use in the bedroom.

I've looked at anson belt but passed due to the lower grain of leather they use. I just ordered a couple belts from orionleather.com. They are full grain leather and look pretty durable. I have also purchased a very good full grain leather belt from deluth trading.

I've had a Corter Leather belt for nearly 3 years and it has held up and aged great. For $55 it was a steal. I held a Tanner Goods belt in person and the Corter is much thicker and I definitely prefer it, and it's almost half the price.
