In the second video she makes a point about porn that I had been thinking about. She says porn shows nature. One of the anti-porn arguments I've heard is that it gives people an unrealistic view of sex. Obviously the scenarios are unrealistic and some of the positions look good on camera but would be uncomfortable for normal people. But at its core it shows our true animal nature. That is realistic, and that is what makes anti-porn people uncomfortable. The fact that it shows how we really are, and it's not always nice and polite.

I'm not sure why she still calls herself a feminist since she's so out of step with their hivemind.

I was wondering the same thing. I guess I'd have to read some of her books to get her full perspective but judging from the election interview it seems like she wants women to step outside of themselves to be more well rounded human beings and broaden their horizons... meaning she wants them to will themselves to do this rather than blaming patriarchy for their ineptitude.

The movies aren't using CGI - theses are in fact thin beautiful bodies having sex. They are in fact doing their all to make it fun and exciting.

If they're trying to convince you that thin, beautifula women having enthusiastic kinky sex is "unrealistic" even if it's having right in front of your eyes, then they're working a conjob on you.

A conjob because they're not willing to do what it takes to give you that experience.

I think Bill Maher deserves far more props. He's singlehandedly turned me on to some great people like Gore Vidal, Christopher Hitchens, Alice Waters (healthy eating/live foods/etc) and really helped me "break out" from my southern conservative mindset. Yeah I'm British so he's not exactly a household name here, but from YouTube etc, I've watched him quite a bit and I like him. He's a 'good' leftist, in the regard that he isn't dogmatic or aggressive with his debate. He is sure of himself which is good, but gives the impression he would listen and change his opinions if presented with good evidence.

Thanks for the interview with Costas. I think I watched it back in the day, but it's been a long time. The show was called Later. Costas stepped down from hosting in 1994. It aired on NBC after David Letterman and Conan O'Brien.

I have respected Paglia for a long time. The brutal truth is that she has had absolutely ZERO impact on feminism or academia, though. It's only gotten worse. Her wisdom has been totally ignored by those people.
