Does anyone here have any experience getting a job for a multinational corporation outside the US? Specifically, I am intrigued by Panama City, not only the culture, but the potential of the economy. I am wondering if there is a job board, or a group, etc, that lists openings for jobs of US corporations outside the country.

Or am I better off researching corporations with offices in a certain international city, then applying through each company's website?

Are you looking at any specific industry or do you just want a job abroad? There are certain industries where it may be the norm to get hired like that, but in many fields it's much harder to get hired for an overseas gig. Expat gigs tend to be highly sought after, so the bar is higher. You may be better off getting into a company stateside, working for a couple of years and then trying to transfer abroad.

I concur with j r. Unless you have significant experience with the language, culture, or a very good network in the country, you need luck to get a job like that.
I work for a huge multinational and it's our policy to only hire people who are completely fluent in the local language. Getting a project overseas isn't as hard.

I have a background in finance, specifically stock trading, but left that industry a year ago.

Things Ive been doing the last year have been entrepreneurial. Going back to a 9-5 would be more appealing in a tropical country.

I would take many jobs I wouldn't take in the US, if it were in a tropical country that interests me.

I got a job years ago in a Dutch company in the Netherlands by using Monster. The trick was to go to the UK site which listed jobs all over Europe in the English language.
