Got dumped by my senior sidepiece today. We were together 2 years, and friends for years before that. Good kid, I'm gonna miss her. She was an actual friend-friend that I ended up sleeping with, but now it's just not going to be healthy for me too interact with her at all...too much danger of becoming another Herb. We're in the same social circle, so I'm still going to be seeing her all the time, I'm just going to have to adopt a no contact policy.

You'll be a better man for it and most likely you won't be the one getting dumped again if you do things right. Most guys here had that 2+ year girl that was turning/turned them beta (if they weren't already) and suffered a break up that wasn't necessarily on their terms.

Funny how something happens at the 2yr mark in relationships. Have had a breakup or dumped before at the 2 yr mark 3 times.

Here is how it actually went -

She indicated she didn't want to see me anymore, I said "No problem, we'll just have break up sex, and then call it quits".

She came over and let me do horrible and degrading things to her, but you could tell her heart just wasn't in it anymore. It wasn't hot like before, she was just going through the motions. She did however finish me off with a blowjob of exceptional dedication and skill, the kind of blowjob that say "I really value our friendship, and I wish you and yours well for generations to come".

Then she got signed to a big fight, and I'm one of her coaches, so I have to be all positive energy and support...not a good time to sever all ties. It would have been devastating to to her, and not good for fight focus at all.

If I wanted to emotionally blackmail her with our friendship, she would break, but I don't overly feel like doing that for tepid sex that would eventually grow into resentment. As of now I'm still enjoying our friendship, so I think I'm just going to let it go at this level. Freezing her out would be awkward at the gym, cost me a good friend, and is not really needed anyway.
