I have a friend that's always getting on my case about not suiting up. I rarely suit up but I do wear a jacket now and then. What I have found was that when I was completely suited up I felt too conservative. I didn't feel like a daring guy that could do anything. A suit constricts me too much and affected my approaches: I wasn't as loose and smooth. I feel too self-conscious in a suit.

I believe more important than what you wear IS how the clothes makes you feel. If you are uncomfortable wearing whatever you are wearing this will come across in your interactions with girls. It may also impact your self-confidence or mood. I dress first and foremost for myself, second for the occasion or venue, and last for girls.

PS But even when I dress down, it would still be considered cool looking. So I don't want to give the impression that I go out there looking like a bum. If I did, I wouldn't feel good about myself.

I can definitely see that. I enjoy wearing a suit, but in many cases if I wore one I'd feel overdressed and somewhat self-conscious. I suppose that means I need to beef up my frame and inner game -I'm not overdressed, everyone else is underdressed Of course, around here they think khakis are formalwear, so.......

I love suits -if I could get away with wearing a fedora and a three-piece suit every day, I would. But I'd rather look and feel like a mature man and not like I'm a kid playing dress-up and wearing a costume.

I think most people dress to the same level as everyone else not because it's necessarily what is most physically comfortable in that environment, but because it's what's most mentally comfortable for them, so that they have less cause to be self-conscious about their appearance. It's human nature to be insecure, I think, just as it's human nature to be afraid to approach girls.

Suits level the playing field when it comes to male physique. Suits mitigate pedestrian physiques, and mute impressive physiques. Thus, if you're very fit, you're not leveraging the full advantages of your brolicness by wearing a suit.

For nightgame, I prefer rocking henleys so chicks can see the cut of my delts, the outline of my biceps, and the contours of my back. All of which would be concealed by a suit.

This is context specific, obviously. For example, if the other guys are business casual, go suited.

My point is simply: dress in a way that makes you feel like a badass but confident at the same time. If you feel self-conscious in your clothes then your clothes will be working against you. A big part of it is also your personality. Some people like dressing more outlandish, others prefer a more laid back look. Basically, in the field you can't afford to be worrying about clothes.

What Roosh is wearing in his Ukraine TV appearance is usually the upper end of my range. I may make it look a bit more hipster or casual depending on the venue and average age of the people in it.

I agree, in all fairness. I only started wearing a blazer in say October and it took me about 6 or 7 times of wearing it before I felt comfortable in it and it certainly shows when I'm out now.

If I'm daygaming in the street, then I want to feel comfortable because if I am, then it makes me feel that I look good and my confidence is higher (obviously). You can change the way you dress and get more comfortable in being that new person, however.

Yep, you can definitely push yourself and you should. There's nothing wrong with feeling a little uncomfortable as long as it's not so much that it begins to affect your confidence and self-image. Actually, if I don't feel a little uncomfortable then I know I am not edgy enough.

The worst is going out dressed down casually, then being out and wishing you were dressed up like someone else you've seen in the bar or wherever and getting a bit self conscious that you're not dressed up as well as you can be.

Then there's also when you go out dressed up well and see someone totally underdressed, and then you feel overdressed and self conscious that you may not look as relaxed and easy going.

It's a battle I have to fight with myself sometimes. Maybe I'm crazy, but I'm learning to not give a shit. It still rears it's annoying head from time to time.

I went through a phase where everything I wore had to be new and never worn before. I didn't feel comfortable unless my gear was fresh and exclusive. I knew I was doing it right when people would ask me where I got it.

I'm still at an age where if I wear a suit people will ask me why I am wearing it. That's why I prefer a brand new form fitting white v neck. Tailored jeans. And some pradas or Gucci on my feet. Nice watch and a necklace with some cologne and I'm unstoppable.

It all comes down to one thing though. Frame.

You guys need to stop feeling self-conscious about things.

Learn not to give a f*ck.

Maybe wearing a suit will help you overcome this.

My guess is also a better suit or better venues will dissipate the feelings of self-consciousness as well.

Being under-dressed is always way worse than being over-dressed.

Just like being under-capitalized is always way worse than being over-capitalized.

This is good entry level basic game (not to mention you limit yourself to low-end venues, but that is another discussion).

The problem is, you are shooting all your bullets at once.

What I do, is rock the Custom Suit, and rope girls.

Then later at your crib, when the girl takes off your clothes, you hit her with another punch by being in shape.

One-two punch.

This is a higher level of The Game, if you will.

Can't disagree with that G, especially the second punch when your clothes come off. If you're going custom with your blazers, do you have shoulder pads in them or let them sit naturally on your shoulders?

I agree with Nomad, you dress for yourself, not anyone else. But I still maintain that how you present yoursef and the type of women you will get to be with you often go hand in hand.
