I've got a Blog with a PR5 which gets indexed on the first Google search page every time I post an article. The problem is, it always gets listed at the bottom of the page. I did an article for a keyword which had 300,000 monthly global searches with low competition. My blog article made it to the bottom of the front page again. This was three days ago and I've seen very little traffic from it.
Do you have to be near the top of the Google page to get any decent traffic? I figure it's like having your product up near the check-out counter as opposed to being at the back of the grocery store.

If it has only been three days, I would say give it some time to move up toward the top of the page. How is your backlinks situation and that of the other 9 results in front of you?

The first result on a particular search will receive ~40% of clicks while the last result on the first page will receive about 4%. On that math, your current ranking should yield about 12,000 page views/month.

If you are already targeting your keywords correctly, then I would focus on just building your backlinks. You could try creating a mini network web 2.0 sites for each keyword you target and link them together and point them back at your article. Some would consider that spammy but it works. Guest posting, forum posting , and blog commenting with links back to your site also help

Use AHrefs to see if anyone is screwing around with your site.

Then analyze your competitors' backlinks and go from there.

and yeah rank 1 on page 1 gets 50% of the hits so being in top 3 is key.

Doesn't seem to be any malware issues.
The first three slots are occupied by Amazon.com and Goodreads (just purchased by Amazon). The author's own Facebook page is #4. Some tough walls to breech.
According to Google Analytics, I had all of 24 visits on my blog yesterday, about what I had the day before. And I'm still at the bottom of the first Google page for that term.
I'd like to monetize this blog, but have to get some decent traffic first.

Try getting a fake traffic tool. You can find one easily online.

Build a blog network.

Learn SEO. I just found a pretty good book on modern SEO and I'll give it to anyone that wants it.

Hey NY Digital, can you pass the book?

SEO is one of the areas where Im lacking. (Actually, im just learning all I can about SEO, email marketing, social media, etc... I spend years creating a great company with a great product, but I find that other guys with shitty products are doing better than me, just because they have better internet estrategies. Im in the game/dating niche by the way.)

Without seeing your blog, I cannot recommend much.

One thing for sure, I won't recommend SENuke XCR.
