Google have lost control of their services
So i just found out my "favorite" youtube videos was something that's broadcasted to the entire internet. they probably told me in a small notice, but i just did not notice in the flow of constant changes and information. Not that I've have that much to hide. But I favourited some videos of some hot girls on youtube a few years ago, had no idea it was for everyone to be seen.

So i tried to delete my account, but it did not work. I only deleted access to it, and it is still out there.

Next time I signed in it automatically used my google+ name, and said "Welcome to youtube". OMG.

then i tried to delete my google+ account.

if i try to access youtube settings, it first ask me to create a google+ account.

This is insane.

Only option I have right now is to delete my entire gmail account.

Right now there just don't seem to be anyway to delete my account or gain access to it. Google has just launched so many applications and services that they have just lost track of it all. All i want is to delete everything except my gmail, calender. But it just don't seem to work that way.

Moral of the story, don't connect all your services together.

I just checked mine and set my favorites and all playlists to private also. All of these online services seem to allow you to lock down whatever you want, but Its up to you (us) to do so. You've really got to keep an eye on it.

Yes, i will be more careful from now on. But i think how all googles services are linked together, for normal use its fine. But I have encountered many problems when i try and hack with more advanced services. I used to think of it as bulletproof code, but really its not.

In the future i wouldn't be surprised if they included a "google disease", automatically notify all the people on your google+ with a nasty breakout of gonorrhea.

It was just some delay, finally my youtube address is closed.

I think if you open a channel, no idea how come i've done that, but then Youtube automatically
sets some settings to public.
In a click from a computer I could fine all my comments, my favorites videos, and my view log, that was scary.

Be careful lads

Can someone explain how to make everything private with Gmail, youtube and whatever else it automatically sets you up with? I don't mind deleting everything except my email account if possible.

Just go to your settings. There should be a privacy tab. If you have a google+ account you can also find privacy settings in there.

There is no privacy tab for gmail because it is, by default, set to 100% private.

One thing that sucks, however, is that google or facebook or microsoft can always change the privacy settings AFTER THE FACT, i.e. after you already have an account with them. I think this practice should be made illegal because no one should be able to alter the terms of a contract once you agree to it.

Currently companies get around this by including a clause in their privacy statement to something along the lines of "(insert company here) reserves the right to alter our privacy policy in future at our own discretion."

Fucking BS if you ask me.

Lost control? No no, this is likely just as planned.

RE: Google have lost control of their services
Google keeps trying to get me to change my youtube account name to my real name. You can lock it down though and keep a nickname but it's not easy to figure out.

Click settings in the top right corner, click Privacy then tick "Keep all my likes private" and "Keep all my subscriptions private" and "Allow only my contacts to send me messages and share videos" and untick "Let people find my channel on YouTube if they have my email address"

Google is quickly becoming the best surveillance tool ever. They pretty much have a record of almost everything that everyone has ever done online.
