Don't wanna be a rapper, but learning to rap
I just want to explore rapping and freestyling as a hobby, so I can at the very least rap at karaokes with friends. Does anybody know how to begin learning to rap? I think both in terms of practicing flow/rythm and practicing how to spontaneously freestyle.

There's a thread right bellow this one about rapping. Why did you just post on that thread?

Because that thread is about rapping as a career, which I have no intention of doing. I also don't want to hijack that guy's thread - he seems to have specific questions regarding his concerns and like, the viability of his plans. I think it's totally different.

I used to rap, strictly freestyle with some leverage off of my writtens. You just have to practise and not be afraid, you will get used to the schemes as you go along. It's a form of expression, practice, practice, practice.

Holla back if you need mo tipz.

RE: Don't wanna be a rapper, but learning to rap
There's a book called 'How to Rap'. I read it out of interest as I used to write a lot of raps when I was younger.

It's on amazon: http://www.amazon.com/How-Rap-Art-Scienc...1556528167

Honestly, some of us RVF members should do cyphers.
Yeah we got a freestyling thread, but like cyphers would be fun to do.

Ha.

Yeah, I remember once word got out around Olympics time that the Olympic village was a swoopfest, we had a deluge of threads about guys wanting "how-to's" on how become an Olympic athlete.

At least we are consistent on here.
