Hard to know for sure, since you had so little contact with her.

It could be that you're invited to make up the numbers. The sister wants a bigger party than her social circle allows. Or they have way too much clam and need to draft in some extra sausage.

The only downside I see to all this is make sure she's not using you to make another guy jealous. This happened to me once and it was an uncomfortable situation -- she wanted me around so her friends would tell her ex and he'd get jealous. Which worked, by the way.
