One other thing that I've noticed here in the bay area amongst a number of French women. They are almost all permanently separated from their husbands but too lazy to get a divorce. No, it is not even about money or citizenship, it's basic laziness and an expectation that they can just go on and have another relationship despite the mess that they bring, kids, etc. It's really quite remarkable.

The problem in general with the French is that they live in their own bubble, they are 'la grande nation', so many will dismiss learning new languages and thus still speak only French even when they are abroad. Sure it is just one point... but it will lead to other conclusions. Some won't be open-minded, even if they claim to be open-minded, some won't make an effort, even if they claim to make efforts, some won't go out of the comfort zone, even if they claim to do to that on a regular basis. She is French brunette alright but that's where it ends. She is absolutely unlike the French girls and especially the Parisians. She has a really hard time here in Paris because she has zero friends. Nothing wrong with having an opinion, but more often than not, it's so fucking misguided or wrong or not based on anything other than unexplored emotion.

If the appearance of irritation is a cultural thing, which I suspect it is, then it's just bad culture, in my opinion.
