I hate how Iphones disconnect us and our ladies. It's been written about a lot around here how guys are constantly getting blocked out because of iphones.

That said, I'm also sick of complaining about getting AMOG'd by Iphones.

So, here's where we AMOG the Iphone.

This thread is dedicated to the ways in which this object can be used to help game.

There are two sides of the coin with Iphones:

Offense: how to use your iphone to increase your game.

Defense: how to turn a girls iphone against her.


The offense advantages are obvious.. You can use Iphones to send out mass texts and keep track of many social relations simultaneously and in realtime. You can get logistic info immediately.

The defense is where it gets a little tricky..

Here are some defensive moves that I've been tinkering with:

-It's easier to kick girls out because they can always look up a car service on their iphones. This is like post bang/damage control logistics for situations where, for example, you bang a chick but want her to leave right after.

Before smart phones, most girls would probably freak if you kicked them out (especially if you live in a remote area). I've had this happen. It still happens and isn't good. But, sometimes I don't care to charm a girl after I've nutted.

With the prevalence of Iphones it's not as bad to get kicked out of the player's house because she can look up the closest subway, or the nearest car service etc.

The comfort that the iphone can create can be used by the player in this way. Take advantage of it.

It's comfort that travels with them. If you kick her out, she will go to her iphone and can get updates etc. that take her mind out of the fact that you just banged her and kicked her out.

Secondly, you can use their obsession with the object to build value by having them look shit up for you. If you have them look things up that show how cool you are, you don't have to tell it to them.

This is great because perceived demonstrations of high value are much more powerful than explained high value.

That's what I've got so far, but I'm curious to hear how you guys are turning the Iphone or any other smart phone kind of thing into a tool of the game.

I prefer to think about iphones/facebook/tumblr etc bullshit as little as possible. Having a girl check stuff for you on her phone is just enabling that kind of behavior in the first place. I am glad I don't get these obsessive girls with phones problems like you Americans seem to.

You did give me an idea though. If a girl checks her phone on a date with me I am going to ask her to look on dictionary.com for the definition of "boring" or "narcissist".

I agree and would like to ignore them altogether, but they are here to stay in America. It's like going a date with more the girl, and her entire social network at the touch of a finger.

Ideally, you don't want her to be checking the iphone.

When I'm on a date, the things I pay most attention to are:

Body language- is she crossing her legs away from me.

Beer/drink level - are our drinks at the same level? If I'm drinking faster than her it might make me seem anxious. I've actually had girls comment on making sure that our drinks are balanced.

Iphone - is she checking her iphone?
The last one is almost inevitable if there is any kind of break in the momentum of the date. A girl will go to her iphone as any kind of anxiety kicks in.

Things to not do on a date if you don't want her to check her phone..don't go to the bathroom or leave her unattended, or let the conversation fall into silence.

But, even if you are running pretty tight game, she's going to check her iphone to "let her friends know that she's ok" (especially if it's a date off of okc).

You can either sit their and let wait for to finish like a dog waiting for it's master, or you can be the master and have her do things for you.

Seems like you're saying it would go down something like this:

Girl pulls out her iphone (or you come back from the bathroom and find she's on it). You ask what she's doing on it or make some other comment, let her finish but before she puts it away on her own ask her to "look something up for me real quick before you put your phone away." Ramble about how you need to know X for Y reason, or you and your buddy were having a debate about X, or something you and her talked about earlier made you curious about X, etc.

Then she looks up whatever you asked about for you, which does several things. You can have some good chat about it if you picked something interesting, it turns the situation into a compliance test rather than you waiting for her like a puppy dog, and it provides a natural segue into her getting off the phone (note the phrase in italics above). It's also less confrontational than some of the other strategies like calling her out with "Oh, is it phone time now?" or pulling out your own phone and sarcastically play-texting, which have worked okay for me but go somewhat against the easygoing vibe I like to put out.

Sounds like a great suggestion, I'm eager to try this out. Will report back.

Yes exactly. Think of the iphone has her fat mother hen friend. You have to be on good terms with both.

Also, you can use this strategy on fat mother hen friends in real life. Get the mother hen to comply with your commands, and you will be in better standing with the group.

Ben Franklin wrote that he was able to form relationships with people by asking them to do things for him. By doing you a favor, cognitive dissonance occurs in the person's mind and it gets them thinking "why would I be doing favors for this person unless I like them".

Another thought that comes to mind is to pre-empt the situation. Early in the date, if you get into a generic conversation about cultural trends or whatever, bring up the whole technology theme and share your observations about how people seem to interact differently in places you've visited without a large smartphone presence, or give your thoughts on how iphones are ironically making us more socially disconnected, and "it's strange that nowadays you can't even finish a conversation with someone without being interrupted by an inanimate object you carry around with you."

When the girl's iphone goes off later, this might not be enough to stop her from checking it altogether, but she might feel a little embarrassed by it and make it easier for you to minimize the distraction with further tactics.

Great point. I forgot to mention that in the OP. You shame them into not checking it.

I sow the seeds on the first date bang recipe by mentioning early in the conversation that I have booze at my house. Then when I mention coming back to my place later for a drink, it doesn't seem like I'm trying hard to lure them back.

I have done this several times, but it's childish. Like baby who is saying, "pay attention to me". It assumes an argumentative/confrontational stance that frames both you and the girl on the same level. You have to be on a higher level if you are going to get laid.

The real shit is to not to have to this, and to pre-empt the iphone. Ideally, when she hangs with you she's totally wrapped up in your world that she doesn't even remember her iphone.

We should all strive for that seamless, tight, golden game.

Silver game is where you still get the bang but haven't created enough vibe and she's checking her iphone. The strategies I've outlined are more for silver game.

Bronze game is the up-hill battle and is essentially persistence and patience and attrition and you out lasting her and out willing her of a long period of time and drinks or whatever.

If I am driving to the date with my girl I'll wear a watch and suggest that we stash our phones in the glove compartment. I don't think it would work for first dates but if you have established yourself with a girl it works pretty well.

Absolutely right. This is the psychological basis of compliance testing. (It's confirmed by quite a bit of modern experimental data too--too lazy to find a link but there's a study where the experimenters gave people some money and then either did nothing or asked them for some of the money back "to help with the costs of the project." The subjects actually had a higher opinion of the experimenters when they were asked for the money than when they weren't.)

Both times I did it in a playful manner. I asked one girl how long she could go without her phone and she told me she wasn't sure. I said "let's find out" and put it in my back pocket.

Both times I have done I ended up getting the bang.

If you want to kick her out have her download Uber and show her how to use it at your place. Sometimes I will buy a girl a car for $20 on Uber, just to get her home, they love that stuff and its not much $$, and she is gone.

Agreed, but if she was hanging out with a celebrity, she wouldn't be on her phone I'm pretty sure.

What I do is I reach over and cover the top of the phone with my hand, pushing it towards her purse. I say something like "none of that" or "no no no" in the same way I would tell a 4 year old that they can't do something. Calling her rude is going to be counterproductive and really kill the vibe in my experience.

That depends on your provider and the implementation within your particular phone. From the Wikipedia page on SMS:

"Some providers allow users to request delivery reports, either via the SMS settings of most modern phones, or by prefixing each message with *0# or *N#. However, the exact meaning of confirmations varies from reaching the network, to being queued for sending, to being sent, to receiving a confirmation of receipt from the target device, and users are often not informed of the specific type of success being reported."

I would just test this one with a couple of friend's smartphones to see if your flip phone is sending the texts as a group message (which I believe is always MMS) or as an individual message.

Golden +1. Especially because she'll probably agree with you when you say it, meaning she's bought in and will be embarrassed to ignore you in favor of the Matrix as easily.
