Enjoy your stay man! As a Russian, I'd like to submit some unsolicited advice:

- Always take "sto gram" vodka shots (100 grams) when in company. A refusal, even if you dont want it, is considered rude. Same goes for whenever you're offered food.

- I believe Moscow has a cheap, high-quality fast-food chain by the name of "Chaynaya lozhka". Try it out.

- Tell Russian women you like cats, even if you dont. Russians, as a people, tend to prefer cats over dogs. You can even make a joke about it. Say "Mne nravitsa kiski". A double entendre which would mean that you like cats and pussy.

- Many forum members seem to dislike Russian food, but I think it's fuckin bangin. Make sure you try: varenniki, blinni (crepes), plov, shashlik, and borscht. Russian bakeries are similarly bangin.

PC, the thing I'd be thinking about is your winter strategy. Pretty soon you are not going to want to be outside unless you have to...so, you either need girl(s) lined up for the winter, or figure out what Russians do during that time. Does it become dormant like in the US or is it even more of a fuck fest? Should be interesting. Good luck.

Outside Moscow, the week they elected Yeltsin, walking through the snow into the forest and clowning with her, then pushing a Russian girl up against a tree and mashing faces with her in the frozen night was one of the most romantic moments in my life.

If you look at what was really said, it was said that if you use a back story be prepared to answer questions about it.

Not so much that indepth knowledge of Russian culture is needed to get laid unless you are going around sprouting off that you are there because of your love for Russian culture.

Some guys would rather gloss over what is being said because they don't like how it is being said.
