I want to start a subscription based professional porn website. A lot of people want to see their own kind being fucked on camera and Brazzers is mostly American. Professional porn around here is amateurish with bad acting/lighting.

It's totally and completely doable but internet porn is a loosing venture for all but the BIG companies.Piracy has ruined it.It's easier than ever to get started but actually making money is very difficult.If your going to do it you would need to figure out a completely different business model than whats out now.

I looked in "talent" ads in CL because making porn movies is legal while hiring escorts isn't. There's like 100+ guys in there advertising the same thing. they see all the amateur porn on the internet and figure they might as well try to do it too.

I think it would be as hard as starting any other business with a lot more liability and workmen's comp issues. Imagine in court, you will ALWAYS be the one wrong when poor little misty sprains her ankle ( or claims she did. )

Read http://www.ishootporn.com it's a blog done by a porn producer named Billy Watson.He really dives into the behind the scenes stuff and the business end of things.Read the entire blog start to finish.Lots of info and he does post on certain forums so he's around to bounce questions and ideas off of.Also check out Christian Sings the blues(Google it, it's a website).The guy goes by the name Christian XXX he works in front of and behind the scenes.He's dated some of your favorite porn whores and chronicles his daily life on his blog.Be warned though the guy does straight porn and tranny/gay porn.Im not into that stuff but he talks about the business side A LOT.He used to be one of the producers for Naughty America I believe. Other than being into trannies he seems like a go getter when it comes to the business end of things and he lays out the various ways to make money in porn.If their is a buck to be made in the porn business this guy knows about it and talks about the dollars and cents of the business.

That's a hefty startup cost. A lot of new porn productions only make a few clips first and hold them on clips4sale, when they start accumulating enough clips then they sometimes move it over to a dedicated site and fork over server/security fees.

The other thing someone mentioned is that if you charge 30$ a month on your own site, someone will grab all the content in the first month - cancel their subscription and post it all on the internet. When you have to buy clips individually people are less likely to pirate them because they spent more money.

Yeah - check out clips4sale.com - as mentioned above. It seems like a good starting point for somebody starting out.

But with that site - it helps to have a strong theme or fetish to build your studio around. It is basically a dumping ground for people looking for a particular type of porn/fetish. But definitely worth investigating.

Also - the cam girls make alot of money these days. So it is an angle worth considering if you decide to head in this direction. There might be a way to incorporate some of that into what you do.

So clips4sale seems like a good place to start. I also have read that A LOT of people shooting amature porn are doing well doing live shoots. There's a website that's like a cam girls site only with people having sex, usually the rougher BDSM style seeming to do the best. This is right up my alley. I could do live scenes on that one website and also film it with another camera and sell it on clips4sale.com to get the ball rolling.

I need to get more details on whats involved on the live sex website.

Anyone know what kind of laws there is about filming porn in different countries?? Or as long as the female actor is 18+ its ok?

i would start with a tube site. if you can get that generating enougj revenue you could use.it as start up capital. that way if people pirate your clips on your own tube site youre still pulling in ad revenue. i wouldnt ne suprised if the big porn companies end up owning most of tje tube sites now

I see alot of guys on craigslist putting up ads looking for girls to do porn. Most are probably just halfass attempts to get some free ass with a promise or royalty or basically skirting around prostitution laws so I doubt many of them get too far. I've actually placed an ad just for the hell of it to see if it would get any responses, didn't get a single one.

Like others have said there's too much free porn out there and piracy has ruined making money. Are you really going to take the time, effort, and money to chase down all the sites pirating your content?

The only way I can see really making money with porn, espeically as a startup would be focusing on a very narrow niche like something not listed on pornsite categories.

I've always had an idea, but don't want to get involved in porn so I'll share it. Since you are in an area where porn isn't shot you could go for a legit casting couch. You'd need to get contacts in the industry, but if you did, you could make money skimming off the top of the "stars" talents if she gets picked up. Not sure how feasible it is though.

So I am gonna follow through with this and start making amateur porn. Not to sound like I'm full of myself but I'm pretty hung and shoot massive loads... which for my niche of porn I'm looking to do is perfect. I do struggle sometimes with busting a nut to soon when having sex thats something I'm trying to work on. Others have covered the obstacles to a small start-up. I know a couple who does private cam shows live and makes some good money doing it. I think you'd have your best luck doing things custom for people or even live and take suggestions. Problem with that is its not scalable and requires ongoing work as opposed to just setting up a site and having a fairly passive i come.

If you wana set up a site I think you gotta find a small wierd niche like girls fucking pillows or adult breastfeeding or some niche that is lacking or has limited content out there.

Thanks VP, I have high hopes for your modeling agency as well! I'm gonna make my first 10 videos to open my C4S studio with the current GF. That way when I hit the road in the next few months I will be able to just upload new videos as I shoot them. As of now the plan is still Lima Peru to start my South American tour then back to Asia around maybe the spring of next year. We will def have to link up when I'm in Asia... If your are still around. I'm certainty open to the live show aspect of it as well. The more types of ways to get my stuff out there the merrier. As far as the "work" being on going I'm cool with that as well.

I have a niche market I am going for. Its a big niche but I have a twist on it that separates it from most. Plus I think the allure of banging young amateur girls in different countries can be a niche itself.

I definately think your onto something with the amatuers. Theres a guy habib who goes to DR and other places and makes videos but his seem too staged. I like the idea though. You could even hire these girls as cam girls and guys who like the videos can have one on one cam shows with girls in the videos. Be sure your aware of any local laws or requirements in other countries

Thanks for the solid advice through out this thread.

I am already aware that some countries might not like me shooting my own porn there and will do research before doing so for sure.

Of course I could always just shoot the footage in said country but not edit it and put it online till I am far from the country

I don't know if it's already been done but what about "CUSTOM" porn as a business model?

It appears to me that the cost of creating, and market saturation of "spec" porn are the primary obstacles. Custom porn would avoid both of those issues.

Essentially it would work like this. The client PREPAYS and then chooses how the scene will play (it could be as simple as choosing from a menu; fellatio, cunnilingus, anal, titty fuck, reverse cowgirl, facial, etc.)Then the actors do the scene as "directed" by the client. The girl could even use his real name like "oh Bob, I love your cock, yada yada".

Basically there's little risk because nothing is produced until it's ordered. I see it essentially as the Chipoltle business model for porn
