So,
I went to this nightclub yesterday with my friend, that's about 1 hour away to the north of montreal. (Where I live)
Upon arrival, I was in absolute shock of amazement. It wasn't the typical cockfest, and bitchy girls that I'm used to back in montreal. The ratio must've been at least 55%girls/45% guys

But, there was one issue though, The dynamics were different. The guys were not trying to grind with the girls on the dance floor, and they weren't trying to talk/game them at the bar as well.

Instead, very light teases, jokes and small talk were the main thing at play. For instance, I observed a group of guys throwing ice cubes at a group of girls, and the girls reacted by coming up to the guys and playfully smacking them on the forehead. One of the guys ended up making out with one of the girls in this whole teasing/playfull process.

Now my issue is, I felt a little uncomfortable opening girls with my tight lacoste shirt, and designer jeans like I'm used to, since I would've most probably been the only one doing so. It didn't feel as if that type of game was adequate to this particular location.

So that's my question I guess. Do you guys adapt your game based on the location, and do you observe how the other guys in the venue are hitting on the girls before you start approaching?

Sounds like you walked into a shooting fish in a barrel situation. Suburban nightlife venues, while very hit & miss talent wise, are orders of magnitude easier to game in than a Miami or LA nightclub. Bitch shields lower. Mistakes are overlooked, forgiven. Again, provided talent is actually there.

Bottom line; you're over thinking it. Just spit. In a small place like that especially, you should be stepping to girls like you are the prince of a small country.

moving from the UK to Singapore I definitely had to adapt my game to the new surroundings. But that's over the course of a year going to the otherside of the world and a different culture, not going an hour out of town for one/two nights. Although the social dynamics would definitely be different in a local suburban venue as opposed to the big club in a major city, Courage Reborn is right: ultimately opening is opening at the end of the day. It is very easy of overthink these situations, and i have been guilty of it myself before. But you should just get stuck in as normal and just try to adapt on the fly.

Rather than observe what other guys are doing i would just try to generally calibrate to the environment you are in as you see it. ie if its a loungy bar then grinding up on girls prob aint the best way to be going about things. However there's probably a good chance in such a place that a lot of people will know eachother, or have mutal friends etc. So observing how the guys are hitting on the girls you wont have all the information to hand, plus it wouldnt really apply to you anyway being the out-of-towner. So although it's good to initally scope out the venue, you just need to embrace the unknown go open and throw yourself into the situation and adapting as you go, rather than getting paralysis by analysis.

Subtle changes really.

In Europe, it seems you can have "most interesting guy in the room" or conversation game and escalate from there. Direct or indirect works.

In the States, girls tend to go less for someone with something to say, because most of them have the conversation skills and attention span of a chicken. Direct of indirect can work, but after the initial approach it's more about negging and going hard and bold.

Upscale place, of course you don't act like a drunken idiot.

Pacific Beach game with lots of young college girls, and drunken goofy game is where it's probably at.

I wouldn't say I pay much attention to what other guys are doing. But I do scan the layout and try to get a general vibe from where ever I'm at.

Europe vs. the USA in terms of game is quite interesting...

Coming back to NYC from Poland, I am noticing how much more important teasing, negging, and cockiness is in the USA. You can't talk about "interesting" things. You have to turn them on humor. But you have to do it right...each weekend here, I feel a misplaced comment has gotten me into a near-fight with some girl. This never happened in Europe.

Overall, girls in the USA are harder to open, but easier to close...compared to Poland.
