In previous generations, the glass ceiling/patriarchy/social conditioning/whatever you want to call it kept women from entering top-end professions. The best jobs available to smart women were teacher and nurse.

Now smart women flock to the same high-salary professions smart men do: finance, medicine, law, consulting. Your kids get taught by what's left.

Ugly on the outside and even uglier on the inside?

I know a couple near me, the woman is overweight but I'd never consider picking on her or taking the piss out of her. Its not because her being overweight is fine, just that she doesn't walk around with this big chip on her shoulder. They seem quite a traditional couple to me, where the man treats the woman with "respect" that sort of thing. The problem, as well documented on here, is lots of the equivalent sized women around now have this huge ego and are opening themselves up to having the piss ripped out of them. Don't act like a cunt and you don't get treated like one.

Hardly. The sad fact of the matter is that logic isn't taught often enough or well.

That's the entire reason I started Logicate - to try to bring real-world, approachable examples to illustrate logical concepts. I'm failing at that, mostly because I've been too lazy to write for the blog regularly, but also because I get sidetracked by ripping apart shit from Jezebel rather than looking for better examples. Sadly, this is going to have the effect of polarizing what little audience I already have, and in a counterproductive way: the people in the most dire need of learning what I'm trying to teach are going to immediately discount the message because it blasphemes their idols. This is reflected in the blog stats. I post shit on Jezebel, HuffPo, Salon, etc. pointing out the logic or logical errors of the articles, but the only traffic Logicate gets comes in big spikes when I post new content, and it's almost all from here.

I will try to do better. I don't care about monetizing the damn thing, but I would like to spread the message that logic is pretty fucking important.
