I recently watched the T.V. series Californication and the main character Hank Moody is my new hero. Does anyone know of a movie character who has similar features as him?

The feature I am looking for is a bit difficult to describe but here's an attempt.

There are many movie characters that are alpha but they never make you feel that if you try, you can become as alpha as them. The reason is that they are usually involved in something out-of-the-world. James Bond, for example, is alpha, but kills people on a regular basis. Same is the case with all the mafia movies that have stereotypically alpha characters. On the other hand, Hank Moody doesn't even win most of his fights. His alphaness lies completely in the enormous amount of mental confidence he exhibits. Even when he gets his ass kicked, he is still non-reactive. He never feels embarrassed or ashamed.

For example, one of my favorite scenes from the series is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nu4TkzzP80 (until 1:44). Notice his attitude even after he trips over the bush. Even though it seems that he loses the fight with the guy, it's clear that he is the alpha one in the scene.

So anyway, do you guys know of any other similar movie characters?

A lot of guys here would consider Hank blue pill since he has some raging oneitis going on.

Being able to be in love with one women and still do what Hank does is about as alpha as it gets in my opinion.

I don't want to start a debate about whether Hank is alpha or not. I think if we ignore the oneitis, everyone will agree anyway that he is indeed alpha.

Do you guys know of other characters similar to him though?

OK, thanks all for the replies. I watched Solitary Man y'day and really liked it.

Tucker Max sounds more like an overly enthusiastic beer-pong-playing frat-boy. I will check out Don Draper and Cleaver Green.
