I just saw it. I take my kid to see all the superhero movies. We enjoyed it.

Although I think getting some kind of shot to get superpowers is weak sauce. He's supposedly 94 years old in the movie but looks 25. He's a cheerleader turned superhero. Not my favorite superhero.

i guess under this rubric the most impressive superheroes are batman and iron man. Everybody else either got their powers by accident or by birth (spiderman, the x-men, green lantern, thor).

I just saw this today and my favorite part was that I found out from the commercials a new Spiderman is coming out next month. I saw the first one but I still felt like I was missing pieces of information. Good action though. Great special FX. When that one dude started fucking flying my mind exploded. Tremendous editing.

Gonna watch it tonight. Can't wait, I heard it's awesome.

I saw this yesterday and really liked it. The movie is smooth, well-filmed, intense, and even though the story certainly has some plot holes or "are you kidding me" turns, the overall quality of the movie makes you not notice them while watching (and even if you do, you can still empathize with the overall message which reflects our current problems like those revealed by Edward Snowden).

I really like well-made movies that are about human superheroes like Iron Man, Batman and now Captain America. Hulk or Thor are boring to me because they're too overpowered and no movie can provide a believable challenge.

7/10, would watch again.

true, but some of the villains are pretty badass in the "superpower" movies. Like i can't wait for apocalypse.

anyone know how to get the new Captain American movie online or DVD ???
LeBeau 路 2014-04-10 20:45:00 路 #33
I have nothing against downloading, and a lot of movies I wouldn't bother to see at a theatre, but this one is actually worth watching in the theatre to appreciate some of the epic scenes.

You guys were right on this one, an awesome flick. I just saw it in China today and it was way better than I expected. I missed the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver appearances... I assume they appeared after the credits?

I'm ok with Spiderman. I don't like Green Lantern though. He's an intergalactic "Space Cop". I don't feel you should portray cops or authority figures as superheros. People around the world revolt against authority. It's only in the US that we seem to celebrate it. Go figure.

There are two bonus scenes.... one after the animated credits (short wait), and one after the full credits (long wait). The second scene features a thoughtful Winter Soldier at the Captain America exhibit at the museum. Nothing special imo. It's worth staying for the first scene, though.

Well, I'll be damned.

I didn't consider watching this for a second when I was in the mall the other day checking out the playlist.

Might have to give her a go.

Does she have superpowers at least? I feel your pain on the abundance of movies focusing on "strong females" - just look at how many biographical movies are made telling the story by focusing on the accomplished man's wife these days - but I give bitches a pass if they at least got their strength from stumbling into superpowers. It's so hard for me to keep up with America's enemies, after muslims I thought the bad guys were Russians once more, but so we're back to Nazis? America will always have a hard on for Nazis I guess.

The Nazis are the ultimate scapegoat on-screen enemy. They're fair game as everyone has agreed to hate them and almost no one gets offended.

Those who do get offended are hesitant to speak up.

Honestly, if I was sitting around a room with a bunch of pros and someone suddenly said, "Hey, I've got a great idea! How about we pit the good guys against the Nazis?" and everyone agreed it was a wicked awesome idea, I'd be embarrassed to call myself a member of the team. haha

You would think it'd be the Hollywood equivalent to Godwin's Law.

Superhero movies do get some "creative flexibility" as far as these things go though.

That's my #1 beef with Hollywood action movies these days. A 100 something lb scarlett Johanssen isn't going to be throwing around 200lb roided out special forces guys. Even in a totally fictional comic book world this strains suspension of disbelief harder for me than a guy who was injected with super soldier serum and got swole.

Any male on this forum, no matter how weak or nerdy would lay out Johanssen with probably a single punch in real life.

Great movie. Some movies you have to see on the big screen. Action and Sci Fi. Dramas and comedies you can watch on your tv.

Apparently they are staying consistent with the source material - a 1940's era comic book.

Was OK.. started to drag towards the end. There's art to building things up in movies. It's called cinema. This movie blew it's load to early or didn't completely deliver.

At least give us a sex scene with Black Widow's tits or something.

Disagree 100%. Thank Gods that there was no sex-scene-for-the-sake-of-sex-scene like in most movies Whip

Ha. Yea for me, there's really only one "strong female lead" in Hollywood movies that I can tolerate:

Leave Scarlett alone. Don麓t know what to make about women superhero but if they are not there somehting is missing. A hott ass here and there in the background keeps erotic level on a healthy level.
