The commercials exemplify what feminism was about: SEXUAL LIBERATION FOR WOMEN while scorning and ridiculing male sexuality.

It's been done in Latin America (the same place the original ad above comes from). I remember, from about a decade ago, an ad in Mexico where a guy is replacing his girlfriends/wife's birth control pills with sugar pills, followed by a pitch for a minivan/SUV saying "full family required".

There's still discomfort using any kind of birth control at all in Latin American culture, which is why these kinds of jokes work better there than they do here.
