All girls have an Attraction Threshold below which the men are insignificant and might as well be furniture. Above that threshold are the “hot” and “interesting” men. The specifics of this depend on the girl. Some like jacked young douchebags. Some like mature men with gravitas. Some are all about the money and handbags. Each girl has her particular preferences and only certain men meet them and rise above the threshold.

Once you’re above her threshold you are now a scarce resource. She won’t just blow you off, ignore your texts and so on (except as a tactic in the mating dance). Some girls have an exceedingly high (or exceedingly narrow) attraction threshold and those girls seem difficult until you figure it out. The process is actually very simple:

Girl has unusually specific requirements in her man. For example if she’s a tall, intelligent fashion model with family money she’ll be very specific because so many pillars of her innate hypergamy can’t be easily found in one man.
All day every day, the men she meets don’t come close to her attraction threshold. She never meets the man who makes her ears perk up. On the rare cases it happens, something happens on the date to burst the bubble and disappoint her.
After years without sex she gives up on men. Her sex drive goes into hibernation and she focuses all her attention on other pursuits.
She’s dismissive of the men who hit on her. She has a learned helplessness – “I’ll waste my time and emotional investment getting to know this man and inevitably be disappointed. So why bother. Just screen them out. I’ll never find a man. Better not to look. It’ll just depress me.”
You come along. She’s perked up and tries to No-Filter you to oblivion. She seems to difficult. What a bitch.
You persevere. You’re a trained player and this is a puzzle you might be able to solve. Finally, against her better judgement, frustration and hope put her on a Day 2 with you.
After an initially frosty and defeatist beginning, she starts to warm to you. She’s enjoying this. She doesn’t really know what to do. She’s never been on a date so long without something going wrong.
And then – ping! – something happens and her defeatism falls away. She realises you are not fucking up. “This man might actually be what I’ve been dreaming about all these barren years”
“Fuck! He is! Finally, a man I can fuck!”

And then it’s in the bag. You are the scarcest of resources. All of that pent-up horniness bubbles up and the volcano explodes. The girl will now chase you. You are the only one who can deliver her. And just like that – often there’s a very particular easy-to-see moment on the date – she flips 180 from being a dismissive, difficult princess to her being a total chode.

Attraction threshold is an idea espoused by GoodLookingLoser.

I was also perusing GLL's blog recently and he defined Game the same way that Krauser does.

It is definitely interesting to see how dating advice is still evolving as new ideas come into play.

The way I read it

What game teaches us, teaches you...taught me at least, is that you can't read a chick's mind.

If she's tatted up and pierced, standing outside of an indy rock club, and you pass by looking like Donald Trump, most newb players would just keep on heading to the cigar bar and not even attempt a holler.

A vet might think, "Hmm this young lost soul might have some daddy issues even though she's rebelling right now. Maybe I should open my mouth since she's looking tight."

Game is what you say and do to get a chick to do what you want.

But to borrow a pop psychology term, what you're really doing is an exercise in choice architecture.

You're carefully presenting her with opportunities to make decisions, and by structuring your encounter you're subtlely nudging her to make the right decision. There is no force involved.

Even the average 20 year old chick has far more experience in what needs to happen in a pick up situation than most players do. She's been offered many opportunities all day, and has been for years at this point. So many guys in the game think that they have it over these chicks, when the reality is she's the car dealer and you're the college kid with the good job and 800 credit score who just wants to go fast.

So you come at her with what you have to offer, presented as best you think. Let her make her decision.

You've got to go find out. Most of the time you're wrong. You might not get a favorable outcome, but she's not the person you imagine her to be.

So true. For a long time I'd let myself get excited about that special woman, the one who I just met but who I was sure could get me on a deep level. Someone who I could actually discuss my passions with, etc.

Not only was I wrong every time about them having depth, but it actively repulsed them.

For example, I love classical music and have dated music students and in one case a pro violinist. Think we could enjoy evenings together drinking wine and listening to music? Sharing our deep musical experiences? No way. These kinds of girls tend to be narcissistic divas and you generally have to run hard push-pull game. They have no real intellectual or artistic passion at all. Great fucks yes, spiritual partners, forget it.

He's also what I would call average looking, and his dress sense is not amazing either.
The Geordie accent is pretty unsophisticated too, and he doesn't exactly have a deep masculine voice.
So, on the face of it, he doesn't have many traditionally masculine traits.
And yet he's still out there banging strange in every country he goes to.
So, he's killed the height, looks and status stigmas in one fell swoop.
Why? Partly cos he approaches a lot, and is able to engage women in witty, easygoing, disposable conversations.
But mostly because he's got that irrational self confidence that Heartiste talks about.
He believes he is good enough to bang 8s,9s and 10s, he believes it so much, it's become internalised.

I also see here many guys especially gaming only in the US - the girls in LA, NY and other different major cities are different than in London, Vienna or Moscow. Pretty much spot on. A lot of 9s and 10s are lonely as fuck and depressed. Lonely by choice or more likely, by avoiding to choose anyone. Persistence mixed with playful personality and drama works with them. After you fucked a 9 hard (which no doubt you will) then she's pretty much yours.

Remember that graph - though it's been designed by Manboobs it was changed by a female journalist.

The female 10 has just so little to choose from to satisfy her hypergamous nature. It is an oversimplification, but it can apply to some women with a crazy high attraction threshold.
