RE: What's Your Signature Drink?
I always order a Old Fashioned when I get to a bar. I like how differently they taste at every spot depending on the ingredients

Also, how do you guys fare mixing liquor and beer? Sometimes it gives me an upset stomach and I have to sip really slow. I don't know why, but even drinking just two beers makes my stomach feel full and nasty.

Almost any bar these days will have ginger beer. You can thank hipsters and their wave of hysteria over Dark and Stormy's last summer (good drink though).

Summer: Moscow Mule

Good man! Moscow Mule is my favorite drink. Seems like kind of an obscure one though, a lot people don't know what it is.

Slightly off topic: Does anyone know why Vodka/Redbulls are so expensive?
I understand RB costs more than soda but some of the prices for those are just ridiculous. I paid $15 for one once, and this was with rail vodka mind you, not some fancy call brand. It's essentially just a highball drink.

My signature drink is a boiler-maker. One beer and one shot of Jameson's mixed in.

Two of those and you're half drunk.

Long Vodka, my signature drink when I lived in Glasgow but later realised it's fairly unknown outside of Scotland

Now when I'm out in a new place at the start of the night my go-to move is to teach the barman how to make one (they never know). To any half-serious cocktail waiter/waitress they will be very pleased to add another drink to their repertoire, especially a rare one few others will know. Always a full proof fast way to get to know them, get them onside and they will normally want to do something for you in return. Usually the benefits range from preferential/priority service or insider tips on where to go later that night to free booze and even some superb 'barman-winging' when I have brought a chick over for a drink

Depending on my current mood, depending on the season and depending on where I am in the world...

A good scotch or cognac on ice, White Russian or a cold light beer. I drink little else.
