Anyone else have a problem with snoring?
The girl who I was sleeping with this past month noticed that I was snoring hardcore after each time that I passed out. This prompted me to download a "snore monitor" app on my phone. I listened to that shit and I'm loud as fuck when I snore at night.

It's shitty because I workout everyday and have a low bodyfat percentage, so I know that I'm healthy.

So I got a sleep study done and I don't have apnea. The doc recommended a procedure that would basically shoot lasers into my nostrils and burn through part of my palate. While I want to get this done...I'm unfortunately currently in the USA. It would likely cost at least $5K even with insurance.

Has anyone personally gone through a procedure like this? I'm considering going to Thailand for it because I hear medical tourism there is the best value you can get internationally.

Snoring sucks and it's killing my game!

I have terrible snoring. To fix it I need some sort of nasal treatment done by a plastic surgeon. It's not covered with insurance over here either.

Doesn't hurt my game though - I can't sleep with another girl in my bed - I've got the 'kick out' down to a fine science lol.

What is your weight and height? Do you know your BMI? Do you have allergies or asthma?

5'8 180lbs and mainly muscle so my BMI isn't accurate. I probably carry 11% BF and have a fourpack lol.

Yes, I have extreme allergies but no asthma. I take regular Zyrtec everyday but not the Zyretc-D (decongestant) because my ENT advised me not to. The pills help with the snoring a little bit.

I'm also supposed to be using some prescription steroid nasal sprays but I don't use them often because shooting shit up my nose can't be healthy long-term and I have a bad feeling about it.

Yeah I do the same for the most part but there are certain situations where logistics are bad and girls genuinely need a place to crash for the night. Or if they visit for a weekend or whatever it's just shitty to explain "Hey I snore so I'm gonna keep you up at night" lol.

I snore when I am sleeping on my back, so I've been messing around and trying other sleeping positions since I'm a relatively healthy person and don't have any of the issues that some may that could lead to the belief of having sleep apnea.

Suggest to get the book by Dr. Derek Lipman (Amazon). Before he cleaned my pipes, I snored like a bear. All the men in my family snore. He used a lazer to remove the flaps, including the uvula, and ran a lazer down each nostril to clear the polyps. This is the nuclear option but it's painless and takes maybe one hour. Had a bitch of a sore throat for 2 weeks, but I haven't snored a peep since. It's wonderful to make no more noise in my sleep than the little sweeties on the other pillow.

Interesting, not much more different than me.

Right before you go to sleep, when you lay down, does breathing get harder? Do you feel congested?

Have you ever tried using a neti pot or Sinus rinse solution before to get the allergens out of your sinus cavities yet? Tons of vids out there, but this explains the gist very quickly.

Where you live is is very humid or dry?

Are you allergic to dust/dust mites, pollen, mold, or foods?

Try spraying every area in your room and living areas with this slightly new product. Spray the carpet, the drapes, your bedding, sofas, etc. If fucking works.

You can also try this one as well.

Another excellent point. That's why I asked if you feel like it is hard to breathe when you lay down. If you have nasal polyps you will need to see a doc for a scope to check, and they can remove them. It will make your life alot better.

I think my issue is due to having a deviated septum or something like that from past chemical experiments >.>

Either way I mainly snore on my back, from my side or laying on my stomach I'm told I snore much less.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll probably just have to go through with a similar surgery. I'm just trying to figure out if it would be more efficient to have it performed in the USA for $5K or so, or have it done in Thailand on a visit. I definitely don't want to cheap out on such an important surgery, but I'd rather not waste money either.

Yes, I use a neti pot and it helps. And when I lay down I do feel that it's harder to breathe. But I've gotten the scope test from my doc and I don't have polylps. My septum is only slightly deviated so he doesn't think that's an issue either.

Basically, he says that my snoring comes down to allergies. So I'll try the allergen reducer spray that you recommend. And I'll eventually have to get the nuclear surgery that Davidovich had done.

Do you remember how much your surgery cost when you had it?

Don't forget to spray it underneath and behind the bed and under your furnishings if there is a gap underneath.

You can also put a mattress cover that prevents dustmite allergens from coming out of your mattress.

Looks like this:

It's like a condom for your mattress and it blocks those nasty things from spreading their fecal matter that causes you to sneeze, which is hiding inside the little fibers inside your mattress. Putting that cover on it blocks and contains it all. It helps ALOT. It's worth the money. They are like 25-40 bucks or so.

Without using that cover you would have to steam clean your mattress once a week or two and that is hard work. I don't know about you but I got better things to do that wrestle with a heavy ass mattress once a week.

RE: Anyone else have a problem with snoring?
Depends on why your snore.

If it is because your throat colapses on you uvula, I can't help you.

However, if you snore because too much snot forms in the back of your nasal cavity (where it drains into your mouth), then I can.

Get an eye dropper bottle and fill it with vodka. Then drop a bit under your tongue. Let the fumes permeate through your mouth. It will loosen up the snot that has built up in the back of your nasal cavity and that snot will drain out. No more snoring until it builds up again hours later.

I bet I snore worse than all of you put together. I really need to do something to fix it.
My dad has to use one of those c-pap machines every night and I really don't want to use that at 29 years old.

what about those strips that American football players wear over their nose? I sound like a saw mill when I'm asleep and I'm not overweight. By the way, if the lizard hears you snore, you've already won.

If your dad uses a c-pap I would genuinely urge you to get a sleep study done. If you really do have sleep apnea then it's life threatening. But I snore super loud too and thought I had apnea but my doctor said I didn't. So you'll have to get checked out to know for sure.

Breathe Right strips. They work very well in the short term but not for long-term use. They come off in the middle of the night and are a hassle to position correctly.

I think solving snoring problems is honestly just going to come down to shelling out a few thousand dollars for surgery.

Another trick I have found is to use a humidifier or vaporizer. The moisture in the air loosens up the muck clogging your nasal passageways.

I snored, but then had a sleep study done. After I got a CPAP, all was well. I strongly recommend you get a sleep study.

if you have excess mucous that's clogging up your airways you may need to avoid all dairy and other mucous forming foods. this helps me reduce the problem quite a bit but doesn't completely solve it. Organic milk is a lot less mucous forming than non-organic.

I also find having the window open, even in winter, helps me quite a bit.

This is something I too need to get sorted out.

Does anyone have any experience with these cheaper options?
