Not beating off is hard. I have been doing the nofap thing and each time I last a little bit longer. I'm not sure where I stand on this nofap thing..

I've experimented with it before. Went close to 3 months at most once. I noticed some interesting game results during that time..

Now I can go a week or so if I really wanted to, but besides it being really difficult, I'm not sure whether it's worth it. Especially since I don't have a regular girl at the moment. I don't want to rely or pedestalize a girl for an orgasm.

The most important thing is not to be doing it daily, or if you look at porn, to cut the latter off entirely (at the very least greatly minimize it) if you can. There was a time long ago where that shit was really frequent for me, and correlated was also social anxiety I used to have and some other issues.

In short, the many improvements guys see in libido and confidence as they reboot are probably coming from changes in their brains, not their testosterone levels.
Men experience myriad benefits as they unhook from porn and compulsive masturbation. It's natural to assume positive changes such as more confidence, better mood, less anxiety, and greater motivation must have something to do with blood testosterone levels. Not so. While it’s possible that unidentified circulating hormones could be altered by excessive masturbation or porn addiction, testosterone levels are not affected.

I bolded some of the more important parts in case no one wants to read the wall of text. There is no real effect on testosterone levels apart from not masturbating after 6 days as far as abstinence is concerned, and the spike in testosterone is only temporary. In fact, long term abstinence may lower testosterone in the long run. Compulsive masturbation does not affect testosterone levels, but exposure to porn over a long period of time is likely to give you ED.

I see absolutely no obvious differences in overall energy, strength etc. related to whether I haven't masturbated for a couple of days before (I'm not doing the NoFab thing, although I'm considering trying it as my libido - but again, not overall energy - does drop in periods where I masturbate every day) or masturbated once or twice just before going to the gym.

In either scenario I could have an average day at the gym, one where I feel particularly strong and endurant, or one of the fairly rare ones where I'm a bit low on energy.

Actually, if you watch one of those TED talks on Porn (there's actually a handful of them), they say younger guys have it worse than older guys. The reason is the existence of high speed internet and tube sites. When we were young & jackin it, it was probably on dial up or old school DSL which wasnt that fast either. Kids these days are growing up with high speed internet with HD porn right on tube sites with several pages open at a time. They become hyperstimulated and grow accustomed to it during their years of development. There's an epidemic of young men in their early 20s with ED due to porn addiction. The idea I get from this thread is that each dude has to figure out how his body and mind respond to particular fap patterns, and then have discipline to follow through with what's optimal - just like a workout routine.

FWIW I seem to work differently than most guys here. I find that if I am not fapping regularly that my overall drive is reduced. But I think the causation is that my drive and libido are low, which reflects feeling shitty. However I find that forcing myself into a good fap (am I kraping myself?) tends to restore some edge.

Today's session was horrible. My rest periods were longer, my energy levels were low and I was forcing myself through some of my sets.

I need to find out if it's possible to establish some kind of equilibrium.
