I'm not sure what she looks like, but I bet unless she has a really fucked up head shape or bad hairline she could be decent relatively cheaply. Nose job and maybe some jaw work, throw in some braces if needed.

If I was an ugly girl I would get plastic surgery, it would pay for itself pretty quickly and you don't want to be on your death bed, ugly as fuck and nobody around cause you were too disgusting to find a mate.

I call bullshit.

This college girl goes out to a club with a bunch of friends who are cute enough to not think to bring money to a club. In other words that they could get guys to buy them drinks. And they manage to get guys to pay their cover. Her friends are interested in meeting guys at the club and have no trouble pairing up with guys rather than standing in an all-girl dance-floor huddle. Yet they take their ugly friend with them to the bar.

And she's not just the less-hot member of the group of girls, but so ugly that that the dance-floor photographer is trying to exclude her from photos. Since when does that happen? Ugly friends are all over club photo websites. For this to make any sense, she'd have to be so hideous that the photographers would run the risk of pissing off her friends so badly that they complain or leave or write about it in the school paper.

Since when do you cute, socially-attuned college girls who want to meet men bring their ugly friend to a club? If she was so ugly that this story could possibly ring true, one of her friends would have taken her aside and tried to give her beauty tips or something. Or more likely said mean things about her and made sure that she was never invited to a girls' night out.

I didn't read her rant but there's an important maxim here:

A bitter woman is a woman who cannot attract the caliber of men her friends attract.

She's probably not ugly, she just has friends who are significantly more attractive than she is.

This is something I have observed recently. Women don't sleep with the second-coolest guy; they always go for the coolest guy in a group. There will be exceptions, but it is generally true.

Her key to happiness would be hanging out with friends who are less attractive than she is.

I have a Japanese woman friend who I've known for about 20 years. She's now in her late 40s or early 50s. Her face is about a 4-5 in attractiveness, which is the reason I never tried to bang her. When we would go out as a group in years past, just like the woman in this story, her friends would often get hit on and she would be ignored. She apparently has tried to make up for her shortage of looks by being a fitness fanatic. She successfully competes in body-shape competitions (kind of like body-building competitions). Her body does look fantastic. She's a nice person and, like most Japanese, she's feminine. She married a greater beta American dude (he's 10 years younger than her) a few years ago and appears to be fairly happy and content. You do what you gotta do.

I have empathy for this girl -- there is no silver lining to having an ugly face. Her life will be a lot tougher as a result and she will have a very hard time finding a guy who will fall in love with her and make her life happier.

I could not imagine how I would feel if I were in her shoes and had to go through those humiliating experiences.

This seems fishy to me. Assuming she isn't fat, old, or disfigured, it's hard to believe that she'd have this much trouble in a poorly lit club with makeup caked on. Either she has a personality that's putting people off or she's just imagining being rejected. A woman with a snotty expression on her face all the time is going to ward guys off simply because guys will assume she's just at the club waiting to try out all the new snarky insults she learned watching the latest hipster movie.

For reference my Czech teacher had a butterface but compensated by being outgoing and friendly to the point where that combined with being in good shape made her attractive.

I don't entirely doubt this story. I dated a girl that was 'men buy me free things' hot to such a degree that I doubted she was into me and had some ulterior motive when I picked her up, especially when I met her roomate. This chick looked like Shrek, for real, without the green skin. I though to myself "oh fuck, she's going to pass me off on the ugly friend!"...luckily it didnt' happen. Shrek and her super hot roomate used to go out together as a two set on the town and I can only imagine the "dude, you have to take this grenade for me" conversations that went on when a guy hit on the hot one.

After reading this story and carefully debating, I've got to assume that she is a chubbier girl who hangs out with girls that are hotter than her.
