I've lived alone most of my life, but got a roommate since I moved to FL without a job.

Logistics are easy during the day when he's at work or late at night when we're obviously going straight to the bedroom, but I had a first date tonight without a ton of escalation (had only made out) but who I think was hinting at a willingness to SNL ("Do you have anything else planned for us?"). But with a roommate, I couldn't think of any bait/logistics. Obviously I don't want the three of us hanging out in the common living room, which would be my normal go to. What does that leave? Drinks in my bedroom? That doesn't quite make sense. All I've got in there is a bed, a computer chair, and a desktop computer. I'm struggling to come up with the scenario, since it wasn't to the point yet of taking her to my room and undressing her. I probably needed some intermediate step.

Any ideas on how I should have closed this one?

If your room is/looks shitty then you should add stuff to make it stylish, posters, pictures, whatever that can make it cool.


Try living in a dorm where your roommate actually sleeps in the same room as you....

This is cake.
When you are on the way to your place let her know that your roommate might be home and just chill in your room for a sec.
Then go grab the drinks from the fridge.
Then have her sit on your lap/knee and watch funny youtube videos.
This works so damn well. Since she sitting on your knee you have an excuse to put you hands on her and escalate.
It should be down hill from there.

If your roommate isn't actively cock blocking you then it'll be easy to get lays.

Use roommate as way to isolate.

"Oh hey, lets go in here so we don't bother my roommate."

Then make sure the only place to sit in your room is the bed.

Yes. Do drinks in your bedroom, I've never had a girl raise a problem with taking her straight there. She would rather you two have privacy in your bedroom even if she's not DTF, then risk feeling awkward with your roommate lurking around or popping in randomly. Tell her your roommates going to be using the living room and you will have zero problems.

I have wondered about this as I recently moved into a new place where I now have house mates and I have resisted bringing girls back there thinking it would be hard with logistics.
Like the OP I now see that it's actually an advantage.

I just need to make sure there is some plausible thing to do in my room... apart from bang :-D

Despite issues with former roommates, I've never really had a major problem with them cockblocking me. In some cases, having the roommate around has actively helped me. Usually a quick conversation before to find out what their schedule is important and to feel out if they're willing to step out for an hour or two or if they're willing to keep to their bedroom for a while.

Ideally you just schedule stuff for when your roommate is not around.

That said, I've have girls meet my roommate or other friends who have been at my house and it hasn't cockblocked me.

It helps that my place is very close to the beach and has some decently cool stuff in it. Also helps that I've been on the lease and sublet to the roommate as a means of minimizing my living expenses close to the beach.

If your roommate is at all pushing back on you, you can break it down for him like this:

1. Roommate, maybe you could go check out a cool movie. I'll pay for your ticket.
2. Roommate, how about I do the dishes next couple nights if you clear out for a bit?

Give and take, it's their place too.

I'm not ashamed to say that I've even put a sock on the front door to my place because I couldn't get a hold of my roommate.

No reason to be ashamed of having a roommate, especially since you just moved to the area and are looking for work.

Also, NEVER UNDERESTIMATE the power of saying, "come here" holding out your hand, and leading a girl that is into you right into your bedroom without saying another word.

If you are getting hot and heavy in the living room, my go to move is to pick them up (ass in between your encircled arms, their legs/head hanging over) and carry them into my room. Other option is picking them up and them wrapping their legs around you while you're still making out with them and holding them up by their ass, one arming them briefly to push your bedroom door open. Even if a girl doesn't want to bang you right away, she will get incredibly turned on and LOVE the domination of you just picking her up and carrying her to your bed.

My bedroom is more setup to fuck and sleep. I should get a laptop or something in their setup so you can watch Netflix. Hadn't really pursued that angle but this thread is a good reminder.
