Interested to know how men here respond to a woman's intelligence in terms of sexual attraction.

I know some men dislike intelligent women because they correlate it with arrogance and argumentativeness, and other men like it because they enjoy the interesting conversation etc.

I would place a girl 'being intelligent' as being a large boost in sexual attractiveness, probably higher than 'having big tits', but below 'having a pretty face'.

Note that it is her 'intelligence' (as expressed in the way she speaks, acts, thinks, talents such as singing or musical ability, intelligent interests etc), not 'education' (which is years spent visiting a building in which people talk at you).

I don't care much for it as long as she's not smarter than me and not significantly dumber than I am. I want to feel that I'm intellectually superior, but at the same time I have trouble connecting with women that are dumb as rocks.

For me, it isn't about having an intellectual friend (I have male friends for that) but it depends on if I am in 'notch' mode or 'ltr' mode.

In notch mode, there is zero effect.

In LTR mode, there is a moderate effect for me because I believe intelligence is more nature than nurture and there is indeed an effect subconsciously even if I explicitly am not thinking about having children. The potential for biological legacy and the need to maximize its potential kicks in.

Perfect timing for this thread. Theres a girl I have know since she was in highschool who is pretty cute and I would probably bang but I wouldn't put much effort into it. Someone posted some nonsense on my facebook page and she came in and completely ripped this dude apart and did so very intelligently with a great vocabulary. It raised her up 2 if not 3 points on the hotness scale. To me it added a whole nother dynamic of who this girl is. I see now why some women go crazy of intelligent men.

It slightly increases my attraction towards them as socially they are stereotyped as being less slutty and hypergamous. It also means that they may actually be able to hold a decent conversation.

For me it's not as much about how smart a girl is but about how she carries it. A chip on the shoulder immediately wipes out any bump in attractiveness a girl gets from being smart. I'd rather date an average chick who knows she's average than a smart girl who thinks she's smarter than she actually is. But an intelligent chick who knows roughly how smart she actually is can be refreshing - assuming she passes the boner test.

I'd say that's because for a casual hookup, its fast and the attractiveness threshold you need is lower. Hence you're aiming for a 'boner test' body and face, which is instant to detect, whereas intelligence takes more time to detect.

Also for a long-term relationship, you're basically looking for a companion too, so you will want more of some other traits which aid that.

The poll is only concerned with 'sexual attractiveness' though.

Chicks on the spectrum are also fun to hook up with. They seem to be more intelligent and sexual than the average girl and have less tolerance for social conventions or relationships. You can usually just be blunt, "hey, we should have sex", and you'll be good to go.

Large increase, mostly because intelligent women are much easier to connect with. I can't stand talking to less intelligent women long enough to make a realistic push at bedding them. They're confused by most of what I say and come up with nothing of substance on their own to move the conversation along.

Aren't beauty and intelligence largely genetic? It's not a pure nature vs nurture debate, but I believe nature sets the solid potential ceiling while nurture increases the probability of reaching the genetic ceiling.

For example, Lindy West has a much higher weight ceiling from predetermined bone structure than say, Miranda Kerr? Therefore, Miranda Kerr has a higher probability to be sexual icon in a culture than values slim physique. Or no matter how much a typical Asian man lifts, he will probably never reach Phil Heath on a couch wolfing down Cheetos. It's just comparative advantage.

My answer this there is there is no direct correlation; there should be a metric to measure how intensely more intelligent women will accept her feminine role. Her intelligence might help her get resources, so she might never have to compensate in appearance or sexuality, OR use it to make money. (First Lady vs Beyoncé) The opposite are the talentless black whores in the BLACK SIMP thread, who mine so well they could bankrupt Goldfinger.

Because the questions is phrased as affecting her sexual attractiveness, then my answer is no effect. I will bang silly a broad dumber than rocks.

If the question was how does it affect her LTR prospects, then it would be a different answer.

This is a good question. I've tried to answer it a few different times.

I've never been in the situation where a chick says something smart and i'm like, "Yo, I gotta rail that chick". It's usually, I want to a bang a chick *despite* what comes out of her mouth .

In that respect smarts does nothing for me.

But looking through the data, I primarily bang chicks that have something going on mentally, and very few vapid chicks only interested in social media/her appearance/friends and family.

Dumb girls don't connect with me.
Smart girls do.

In terms of attraction though, wit is dime a dozen, hobbies do nothing for me. A chick with a cool/interesting job rarely talks about it with the sort of depth or passion that I really find attractive.

I'm not ruling out the possibility, but current data suggests that it's a non-factor for me.

The more and more I date the more and more I realize more intelligent issues have more and more issues.

Just like some of said, I'm not banging a girl for her intelligence, I'm banging her for her looks and body.

However, that being said, decent intelligence is needed for a mini/LTR, there obviously needs to be some substance beyond looks.

I do enjoy intelligent conversations, mostly this happens with other men.

Best piece of advice my dad gave me: "Make sure you find a smart girl, but never smarter than you."

I dated a girl recently who was a brain. By far the brightest girl I have ever been involved with. She had a degree in neuro, but was making the switch to get her degree in Psych. Super intelligent. We had fantastic conversations and sex was solid. But she was just too much. Constantly probing my mind. Trying to get inside.

Wanting to know things about my past and trying to understand why I acted in certain ways sometimes. She would get frustrated when I would deflect. Eventually it turned me off and I had to end it.

If you have any difficulty separating your 'required sexual attractiveness threshold' from 'what you find sexually attractive', focus on "would bang again". Not 'would bang for the notch' or 'get into an LTR with'.

A good example that differentiates this is her sexual performance. If a girl is good in bed, it may simultaneously discourage an LTR (showing experience) but encourage you banging her again.

I've only realized that it effects my actual sexual attraction upon reflecting back over the girls I've been with. The girls I've most enthusiastically wanted to bang were not necessarily the most beautiful, but in retrospect they were the most intelligent. In general the most beautiful girls I only considered 'trophy bangs' afterwards - more 'validation' than actual sexual satisfaction.

I'm of the opinion that much of the 'connection' X-factor than men talk about is actually them detecting the girls intelligence via the way she talks, thinks, and behaves etc, rather than actual rapport. Hence this poll, and I'm pleasantly surprised to see the median at 'moderate increase'.

I'm not interested in super-smart girls. It's important to me to be the intellectually superior partner. But, really low IQ is a turnoff too in the long run. So I'd say my criterion is girls between, say, 90 and 115 or so, i.e. mid-range IQ.

If I will spend time around her, it is a pre-requisite. All I want is for her to keep up and have a sense of humour. The most attractive ones are the ones who are an exception to the rule- you expect them to have the IQ of a strawberry and are well-spoken.

That being said, I notice that ambition is more attractive to intelligence. It also allows us to magnetize better than intelligence itself.

Both are being showcased via your personality but you can discuss ambitious matters to turn them on but you can't really discuss intelligent things but rather apply the intelligence.

Naturally, if she is intelligent, she will know what to showcase.

Applying this analogy most of the girls we bang are intelligent if they are sharp enough to find our 'buttons' and meet our standards, wouldn't you agree?

No effect on sexual attraction or my enjoyment (primarily sexual) of a short term relationship, like a few weeks. But for a girl to keep my attention for very long beyond sex, she has to be at least reasonably intelligent.
Not necessarily well educated and well read - potential detractors, certainly in the West - but able to effortlessly hold up her end of a long, normal conversation with plenty of humor and witty banter.
Otherwise she's going to bore me to death fairly quickly.
