Hi!

I'm 23 and I find myself in a period where I realised that I don't like what I studied at the university.

I need to find inspiration about ways to earn a living,wathever that would be useful,books and material about money makind,entrepreneurship,inspiration,ideas..

In my environment people just are working for someone else,for the governement or are unemployed,and I don't wanna be like them.They just put a roof to their development ,now that I can maneuver,I want to take the most of it.

Is easy to follow the flow and the less expected day you realise that u're fucked up with more and more responsabilities,family,kids...and then you realise that you don't have time for yourself or anything like that-->(Is what many people in their 30s and 40s tell me)

I also recommend the website Khan academy and Udacity for education. Duolingo if you are interested in languages.

"Think and Grow Rich" is the bible of inspirational books about making money.

I'm also listening to Arnold's "Total Recall," an autobiography of his life. Pretty inspirational. It will make you want to life weights and start a business.

Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill as everyone else has mentioned. I am in the process of reading it now. It is an easy read. Extremely inspirational.

I'm sure you'll get plenty of feedback on books. You're 23 and looking for inspiration, afraid of the daily grind for life (great to hear at 23).

First, inspiration will come from reading, but exponentially more will come from interacting with people (on RVF or ideally in real life).

Figure out what you're passionate about. Reading is a great start, but also...

*Do things.* Workout, bar-tend, travel, talk to people, work at different jobs. Just don't spend too much time learning/reading vs doing. Keep that balance.

I have yet to find a manual on 'money making' generally, since it has so many factors.

I recommend these relevant books:
- All Robert Greene books (48 Laws of Power, Mastery etc)
- How to Get Rich by Felix Dennis
- The Luck Factor by Max Gunther (excellent, insightful book about where 'luck' comes from).
- Secrets of a Master Closer by Mike Kaplan. This is a sales how-to book, sales being one of the pillars of business.
- Accounting Made Simple by Mike Piper. This is a good intro accounting book, finance being one of the pillars of business.

I semi-recommend 'The E-Myth Revisited' by Gerber. It's god-aweful writing, but the ideas he does express are very insightful.

I too recommend interacting with people. In the same way you approach girls in a bar to get sex, you should approach guys in a bar to get insight. They reject you much less too

I will look for jobs that can provide me with useful advice,for example I will get into sales.

For me reading is an awesome and powerful tool,just imagine,all the knowledge of a person at your fingertips.

I want to find lot of inspiration now because I'm 23 at an inflexion point where I can maneuver in life and plan acordingly.

Duolingo is good to start with but I'd recommend Babbel after you get to an intermediate level. Alternatively, you could torrent Rosetta Stone, get a pen-pal and travel to that country; immersion when you can't speak a word of the language is generally a bad idea but once you achieve an intermediate level immersion will help you achieve fluency.

Ray Croc (McDonald's) has a memoir claled "Grinding it Out". Not about making $$$ per se, but it's inspirational because he started the chain in his 50's after numerous setbacks that would've made lesser men quit. It make you realize it's never too late to start and obsession is vital if you want to make it big.

Just posted this in another thread: Lazy Man's Way to Riches by Joe Karbo. Very motivational and it's got greate exercises help you figure out what you're good at and how to monetize it. It's like inner-game for entrepreneurs.

Millionaire FastLane: MJ Demarco. Wish I read this when I was your age. Very red-pill take on work and money. We live in the best age for entrepreneurship so I hope these help you.

Millionaire FastLane: MJ Demarco is an amazing book. What fascinated me about the book is, the author proves his points by simple mathematical formulas.

Most of the information in the world is not posted in internet blogs and forums, nor is it written into books and published. It exists in men's heads.

To get at this information, you must talk to them. Strange men, especially those with something to say, are quite open to talking for a bit. Successful men know this rule too - you could be of interest to them, so if they're not busy they're happy to talk for a bit to check. Most men also have a mentoring instinct - they're happy to give advice to younger or more naive folk, the 'newbie forum' here being a good example.

I've gotten valuable advice, some of which I've actually acted on, from guys at bars. I've also met all sorts of impressive characters, winners who are living great lives.

You should talk to basically 'whoever'. Most young people feel contempt for talking to older folk. However a 50yo has seen and done a lot more - they are more likely to have valuable advice. However you should obviously not discount young men either - I've met some great up-and-comers who already have successful businesses in their early 20s etc.

Finally, it helps you get more women. You get loosened up, you are seen by other women in the bar being social and having intelligent conversations. You'll find that you start to 'bump into' women more than if you're being a wallflower or just approaching women.

There is a book called 100 Dollar Startup. It provides a series of chapters about guys who have began their own business. It doesn't necessarily feature people who've become millionaires, but rather people have started their own business and enjoy a great quality of life as a result. I found it inspiring particularly because the people who are featured are not rocket scientists but ordinary people who didn't choose the 9-5 route than most do.
