We all know the disgust that womyn have then talking about men gamers. They are "loosers" , "children" "immature" "wankers" and so forth (thus proving that women are the gentle sex).

This spawns from the fact that they HATE instinctively ANYTHING that takes away the attention from them.

I am coordinating a book about media and communication, and one of the authors did a study about gaming. A few notes:

1. It has become bigger than movies. Example GTA V topped 1 Billion in 3 days.
2. Many people have died whilst playing video games from not drinking or moving (created blood cloths in the leg, and it lodged itself in the lung when he did finally moved).
3. A couple were playing a game like Sims, and raising their child in the virtual world, and forgot their baby in the bathtub and it died.
4. A plane missed it's airport by 200 miles, because the pilots forgot they should land because they were distracted by facebook (thus putting the lives of dozens at risk).
5. People died playing PONG ! This only highlights that even when games were less "imersive" they still had this effect.

Regarding point #5 It is MY opinion that it shows that it is fundamentally a problem of psychological flaws, if even a game such as pong led to death (due to heart attack after 17 hours of continuous play). But once more, I agree that the new games will have an EVEN stronger effect.

But this does not happen to everyone that has a computer, or used facebook or porn. Why ? because some people understand what is happening and have the maturity to control themselves.

I think this is not a good thing for men at all because it will take women OUT of the game, not men. Sure, it will take some herbs and uberbetas out of the game but who cares for them anyway. I don't see them as competition. In fact it will be better if they're are out because they also stop giving attention to real women by liking posts, pictures and ll kinds of online hollering. (the online upping of the princess complex of women)

The real problem is that VR will take women OUT of the game. Women's sexuality is far more driven on fantasy stories and their own imagination. Instead of reading books, watching rom-coms and being picked up by real men, they will put their VR goggles on and go for 1 of 500 ready made fantasies. They'll be in their own movie and in the end get railed by the hero(s). What real man can compete with a fantasy hero?

It's a tremendous moneymaking opportunity though. Anyone into this technical stuff should definitely explore it possibilities.

I had to congratulate you on puting that S next to "hero".
And regarding competition real man - fantasy. You are right in some instances, but not all.

My main hypothesis is that as the large scale production of vibrators (pun intended) did little to curb women libido, if nothing else it created even more desire.
Case in point, if ones is reading this forum then he must know of at least one man that is non-fit (lack of endurance in bed), unattractive maybe even a general jerk (not confident) and still women search for him, even though they are the opposite of the fantasy hero and still women prefer him/them compared to a dildo.

If this does not satisfy you, then I offer the following:

Yes, women like fantasy and this will take it to a whole new level. But the flip side is that men are visual and have most of our sensation concentrated in one region. VR + fleshlight take care of both. Whilst women are concentrated need all senses stimulated.
1&2. So visual and sound are probably taken care of (except conversation that is meaningful, but this is not the case for 99% of women, so simple computer scrips can cover conversation also).
2. But a woman will want taste, to some degree tech can accommodate that.
3. Smell...essence of seminal fluid in shops, scented candels.
5. And feel. She will want to feel pulled, pushed etc. The first can be simulated to some degree, with effort, but the last less.

For the first few years women have a major disadvantage, and later on retain one, that varies from women to woman, from major to small.

I think you guys are looking at this the wrong way with respect to women.

All the betas and omegas that are getting laid by their 5s or lowers will be virtually cuckholded. The chicks will be wearing their VR goggles to imagine that the tugs on their hair are coming from James Dean or some male pornstar, and will be ordering their man around to match the VR picture.

The Omega/Beta guys won't care because they'll be nailing their virtual Sasha Greys.

While my demo happened with a Samsung Gear VR, that isn't necessarily the optimal platform for VR porn. Samsung's walled content garden means porn scenes have to be sideloaded. A PC-based system like Oculus Rift or Vive is more open to adult content. Naughty America started with the Rift, is looking closely at Sony's VR solution, and is ordering a Vive developer kit, Paul said.

"We support a variety of devices, and we have to," he said.

How is this stuff shot? Paul said that's part of NA's "secret sauce," but some of it was clear. The scenes use two cameras, at least one of which is over the shoulder of the surrogate performer.

Lauren S., VP at Naughty America, said the VR shoots didn't take a lot of extra skill from performers as long as they were used to the "POV" style, which requires them to look into the camera as if it were a lover.

"Once they get going, they seem to have adapted very well," she said.

A few days ago, Las Vegas brothel Sheri's Ranch sent out a sort of anti-VR porn press release, reminding folks that sex is better when it's interactive and involves real human connection. They're right, of course. But I don't think VR porn is competing with actual sex; it's competing with "ordinary" video porn, and the difference is huge.

"Depending on the mechanics of the scene, there can be overheating issues with the phone. We like to believe that the scenes are just so hot that the phones can't take it," Paul said.

That last quote is why more men will opt out of the dating game and the birthrate will continue to plummet. These people don't understand that VR porn isn't "competing" with "ordinary porn" and not actual sex. All of it is competing with actual sex.

Duuuuuuuude. I was thinking something in the lines of this just a few days ago, though the thought had not quite taken shape in my head: Facebook.

Think about it, Facebook give people the false sense that they are relevant, that their opinions are heard and appreciated, that they have friends and interesting lifes. Thats their virtual reality.

Their real reality is that they are a bunch of lame ass idiots hitting the refresh button every 5 minutes hoping something resembling something interesting appears on their timeline, sharing others witticism or content, and every once in a while staging (actually going out of their ways to pose for a picture, props and all) that showcases how interesting their lives are to others. Oh really? You are reading a book while dinking a margarita on a rooftop pool? And we should care why?. Ive seen their lives. They wear crocs to work and cant pay rent.

Facebook is your surrogate life. It obviated the need to spend time face to face with people, reducing all our actual human interactions to mere mercantile transactions. I never undertood milennials insane attachment to their pets. They treat their, "adopted" of course, cats or dogs as if they where their sons. Now I see: its the closest thing they have to a loving, caring realtionship to a living creature. Of course they have family or friends, but they dont connect with them. They even go as far as hiding their personalities (Ever wondered why hipsters got tatoos, wore used clothes and adopted weird interests like swedish bands or japanese tea pots? they are buying their personalities. Of course they have personalities of their own, they just dont show them, least someone criticize them or disagree with them...) from people around them and building barriers to human interaction. Dont ask me to go out of my shell, I have aspergers. Dont say those words, they trigger me. Dont talk about that, its offensive. Dont sexually desire me, its rape. Dont speak to me, its harrasment.

They personas are fake and their social interactions impersonal. Modern society is an archipielago of people, each one a one man gulag of their own making.

Seems like something out of 'Demolition Man'. In fact, even the society itself, with it's joy-joy feelings and no tolerance for uncomfortable stuff.
Anyways, I look forward to this VR porn stuff, less dudes running around town throwing bad game at girls, more for me, and even on an off day, it should be easy due to lack of warm bodies interacting with the female population.

As a gamer I'm hoping to get a chance to try VR this year. I don't have a PC remotely powerful enough to use with the Occulus Rift (actually Facebook owned, for those who don't follow that part of the tech news) but I suspect I'll be awfully tempted to buy Playstation VR when it releases later this year.

I see too main factors that can get in the way of VR going mainstream and instead becoming the next tech fad that few people really care much about (I was a huge 3D proponent now I honestly don't give a rats ass if a movie is in 3D or not, unless it's a visual spectacle in an IMAX cinema. But VR is of course another level of immersion and not just a small extension of a usual image).

1. Price. The price of the final production Occulus Rift headset was announced around a week ago. $600 (or in Europe €699 ~ $760). And it's unusable for people who don't have a powerful gaming PC.
Amazon accidentally let a supposed Playstation VR price slip on their Canadian site a few days ago, and it was just as high. Although Sony quickly stated that no price has yet been set (they have previously said it can be expected to cost around the price of a the PS4 console it will be used with, which is around $350-400, a bit more in Europe. Guess that might be too optimistic).

2. The tech will drop in price with the next iterations of course, but that's assuming that the initial cost isn't so prohibitively high that too few content developers will bother with the tech so it will fizzle out over the next few years.

There are a couple of much cheaper options aimed at being used with high end smartphones but I imagine they could still be at risk of turning into a brief fad if they don't offer enough content and deliver a suitably impressive experience.
