I would take it as a new lease on life, and do something I've always wanted to do but fear of judgment and failure wouldn't allow me to... Really learn piano and produce downtempo electronic triphop, Thievery Corporation-like music. Just fuckin weird out. Do it in NYC 100% with pussy inspiration aplenty.

It's the pressures of family and friends that keep me chained to a conventional path. I respect people with alternative careers a whole lot man... I'd definitely be one of them if I didn't feel eyes on me.

Doesn't matter as long as the city is large enough that you don't need the approval of any local clique to have friends.


From there I recommend just joining clubs. A public speaking club, a sports club, a bible study club....whatever interests you and you will benefit from even if you don't make any friends there and that you will enjoy enough that you will stick around long enough to get to know people there. Hell even finding a Dungeons and Dragons group can be a good way to make friends.
