Facebook Business Page Feedback
Anyone of you have experience with Facebook business marketing? Trying to help friend of mine figure out why he's having such a hard time with sales when it seems his competition has no issue.

One thing I noticed is the competition has 50k+ likes and another has 20k+ likes while he only has 5k. He does do $$ boost postings yet doesnt seem to help. Looking for someone to take a quick look at 2-3 facebook pages and offer some suggestions.

PM me if you have a few minutes. Thanks

How is he using his Facebook page?

For instance local business might use a Facebook page to let customers now about sales or specials.

If you want to incentivize people to like your page you could offer the a 5-10% discount or give them a one time coupon for 5-10%.

Depending on what he sells you can actually setup a store on facebook where people can actually make purchases on the facebook page. I have never had any sales from mine but I've also never really put much time or effort into it. Its very easy to setup through shopify though its like a one click setup and then you can customize from there.

I think the main thing with facebook is engaging with your audience. So many people slap up all this stuff but there is never any engagement. If I sell kayaks for example I want to have kayaking videos, how to guides, easy repair guides, etc. Not only that you want to open yourself up to field questions from customers.

This gives people a reason to visit your site not just to puchase but to absorb content, learn something, be entertained, and while they are there maybe they decide to buy something. Also, it gives you a chance to establish yourself as an expert so you can sell more informational type products.

I don't think people put much stock in how many likes you have. I mean if you have 10 thats pretty low and I may think there's not much value in the page, however 5k isn't bad. People who have a million likes and aren't a big corporation or some fad product or business you pretty much know htey are purchased likes so that doesn't sway me nor does it probably sway google or fb.

This. If you sell kayaks,
1- post kayaking related content that your audience likes
2- your audience then shares the content on their timelines
3- friends of your audience like your page to receive similar content directly
4- You now have more targeted likes.
5- When you post another video or your next sale, you reach out to a bigger pool of people who might then decide to buy something, therefore you make sales.
You can also buy 50k-60k likes for $50 but that won't do anything for your business.

Tell your buddy to get his prospects off Facebook and onto a list where he can market to them better via email.

Also vanity metrics like retweets, likes and shares mean little at the end of the day.

Unless it's putting $$ in the bank then it's worth nothing.

Content is king.

I spent over $100 over a year on one page in about 6 campaigns and it got to 5.5k likes.

Another page got to 7k likes in about 3 weeks with only $6, which was the lowest Facebook would let me go on a campaign.

I disagree. Nobody really reads their email anymore unless it's B2B in which case they just skim it.

Are you trolling or something with this? You most certainly pulled this statement out of your ass...

Building up an email list is a smart thing to do. It's an actual asset - something you own. If you have an email list you technically own your own traffic source, and you can market to them over and over again, for many years. Email marketing isn't easy, but it's one of the best ways to market, even in 2015

Absolute bullshit. The opposite is true, and I have my business to thank for it.
