McCain's aircraft is 416 on the diagram. The aircraft that shot the missile is 110 on the diagram. For the "wet start" to cause the missile launch, somehow McCain's aircraft was the opposite direction, facing out towards sea, as he started the afterburner.

The fact that, unless I am mistaken, nobody was prosecuted for this tragic incident, tells me all I need to know. Only the son of an admiral would be sheltered from prosecution.

But in any case, if you doubt my sources, why do you blindly believe the official, admiralty-issued sources? This diagram is cute (want to bring it to the WH?), sure, but, it was provided by the admiralty, which was at the time, McCain territory.

I mean, what were the odds that the tragic incident came from the very spot where the admiral's pampered son was stationed, a son that graduated almost last in his class, lost like four aircrafts in his short career, and was swiftly transferred afterwards to another warship?

So you don't have an actual source. The crewmen are all out of the Navy now, the admiral is dead, and McCain himself will be dead soon enough. The purported crewmen can come forward without fear for their careers. They haven't. Everyone has mysteriously remained silent for 50 years.

You're depending on a theory that goes against established facts in favor of making McCain look bad. And somehow, everyone has stayed silent for the last 50 years, including during his presidential election campaign. Mysteriously, nothing like this managed to come up, unlike with Kerry, where the "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth" were proclaiming his total lack of heroism/incompetence/whatever.

John McCain has done some pretty bad things during his lifetime. Causing the USS Forrestal fire is not one of them. Let's not make the facts fit the narrative.
