Dogs will naturally take any advantage when there are no clear boundaries or leadership. I'm convinced that very few women are capable of assuming the role of master in their relationships with their dogs, resulting in undisciplined and unhappy animals. Just see what happens when you interact with a dog owned by a female - it will immediately respond more willingly to your deeper and more authoritative voice. In any normal dog-master relationships where the master is a man, that authority would never be usurped so easily.
