The raucous scene unfolded when a large group of protesters streamed into the convention hall chanting, "Black lives matter!" As O'Malley and interviewer Jose Antonio Vargas looked on, one of the group's leaders took over the stage and addressed the audience as the largely female group of demonstrators railed against police-involved shootings, the treatment of immigrants and Arizona's racial history.

Before departing, O'Malley told the convention: "Black lives matter. White lives matter. All lives matter," prompting some heckles and boos in the crowd.

He later apologized at an immigration event. "I meant no insensitivity by that and I apologize if that's what I communicated," he told reporters. "That was misstated. What I intended to say was that we're all in this together — that black lives do matter and we have a double-standard of justice in this country."

Since this is a delicate topic I really wish I had the ability to finally tune my words like some of the studs on RVF.

My goal isn't to make this about race, just an observation that you just can't say shit about anything anymore, people are so thin skinned and always seeking the next thing to feel disrespected about. And that manners have disappeared. Granted O'Malley was attending an event with the most rabid liberals (based on what I read). The last tolerant of any idea but the ideas they like. But this is a Democrat who is on their side. Don't they get pissing on their own will get them nowhere?

Now for the more complicated matter.

While I understand this may appear to be piggybacking off of "Black Lives Matter," but isn't "All Lives Matter" true?

I believe Blacks have had the short end of the stick, some of the the treatment seems to be disproportionate for the crimes committed, etc. And while I can't personally say I understand how this feeling of discrimination may burn within someone who is black, I can try and imagine how it can affect someone.

Having said that, I do think becoming upset if someone says, "All Lives Matter," confirms what I have learned here on RVF that SJWs just want it all. Equality isn't the goal. Just a fake front, while stabbing people in the back. Then they forced an apology out of him, for saying something that is true. WTF!

Given that Trump is burning it all down on the Republican side, I am now hoping that a call it like it is candidate will burn down the liberal side.

What bothers me is people have become so blind that even a basic fundamental truth of "All Lives Matter" gets booed.

It is like an arms race of victimhood. (I think Scorpion said something like that about women and makeup)

All lives matter, period. When any group tries to marginalize another for whatever reason that is tyranny.

The last thing you want to do in this country is marginalize its working core of white, asian, and latinos. Especially whites since they pay the bulk of the tax burden.

Those fools don't realize that if they think retribution will make their lives better they deserve whatever comes to them. The response will be similar to how Israel deals with the Palestinians. IE bombing and destroying their homes.

Recognize the interviewer? He's an illegal who, for some reason is allowed to stay in the US. He's also the one who, despite being treated well in a country where he is a fugitive, just did that video shaming white people.

Saying all lives matter takes the victim classes off their pedestal. When I was a tinfoiler, I read something suggesting that Dr. King was getting preparing a "Million Poor Man" march. He had come to the realization that it isn't necessarily race, but socioeconomic status that leads to political disenfranchisement. Hence, he was killed.

I'm not sure how much truth there is to that claim, but let's take a look at recent events. After Eric Garner was killed by NYPD, there were massive protests (Black lives matter). Two cops were killed, and another had his nose broken. The response by the media was that of sympathetic understanding, even if they didn't agree with the violent retaliation. A few years earlier, you had the Occupy movement. A non-violent protest based along class lines. The response by the state was ordering their thugs to pepper spray and crack skulls, and using their 4th branch (the media) to downplay the significance of what the protesters were aiming for.

Now, I'm not suggesting that blacks in America don't hold the short straw, or that Occupy had a point or accomplished anything. What I am saying is the media has successfully divided us along lines that keep the underclass fighting amongst themselves.

The reason they are so pissed is because a police protester was arrested for not signaling before a lane change and died (by suicide) in police custody three days later. The wound was still a little fresh and the crowd overreacted in my opinion. Just offering context for the forum.

There has to be more to that. How the hell do you get arrested for a traffic violation? I can say I was arrested for speeding last month, but that's misleading. I was arrested for suspicion of DUI, but blew under the limit.

I have seen him before. He was brought here illegally as a kid and was surprised to find out older than he wasn't a citizen.

He was part of the team that won a Pulitzer for the VT shootings.

I do have a little sympathy for those who came here as children and always thought they were US citizens. Especially if their parents told them they are citizens.

I saw that this morning. I think the crowd overreacted. I'm trying to put myself in the shoes of the crowd and I think they were upset because in that moment, O'Malley wasn't really recognizing that sometimes being white gets you more privileges in America than if you're black. Saying all lives matter took away from the message Black Lives Matter is trying to get across.

I'm not taking the crowd's side or O'Malley's side because I only saw a quick clip on the news. I'm just trying to analyze what's going on. There's probably more to the story than I know.

There are many things that point to what you states in Dr. King. His speeches later in were shifting towards more about class then race and more talk about the hypocrisy of spending millions to carpet bomb countries, but as a nation you can't even house and feed each child.

The establishment was fine with him just toiling in a round about with civil rights and blacks but when he started shifting away and with the influence to steer a national campaign against the war machine they took him out. Hr never wanted to go to Memphis for that march. He was talked into it to do favkurs for some of friends, he was more committed to getting that new message out.

The FBI head Hoover was obsessed with Dr King and though he was a Soviet operative. The moment he got away from race they all assumed he was going to attempt some red wave in America.

In that day Americas establishment was at its weakest. The Republic would of fallen into a revolution if the powers did not put their boot down. America would of been on its second constitution which IMO would of halted the war complex and delayed or stopped the destruction of the dolled which has basically rapidly ruined wealth and is slowly making America ever more poor each decade.

Go to Reason.com they have the story plus the video of the arrest. The police claim she was "combative" so she was arrested up the street from a local HBCU where she applied for a job. The initial reason for her being pulled over was changing lanes without a signal, she was likely not drinking (she was going to a job interview at a college,unless it is a job at a strip club I would assume you do not drink before an interview.) but they ended up arresting her, and 3 days later she is found hanging in her cell. I just report what I read, I was not there....

Yes, exactly. In general, racial agitators and feminists don't actually want equality in principle, but rather want a status-grab for their perceived tribe.

Just like saying "We should get more people in STEM, in general" in response to when PC-feminists say "We should get more girls in STEM" results in indignation.

Just like saying "We should also figure out a way to close the male deficit in GPA" in response to when PC-feminists say "We need to fix the Math test-score gap between boys and girls."

I think one effect of all this protesting being ostensibly over police brutality is that all the pussy whites in charge are afraid to actually use their security. Normally someone rushing the stage on a presidential candidate would get clubbed by security in short order due to fear of an assassination attempt, but now they're afraid of having footage of some crazy black bitch getting maced into submission and just sparking more protests.

This has basically already happened.

And as some guys from last night will remember when I talked to them about this concept - "social justice" is essentially coalition warfare. This incident is a perfect example of that.

The future of both parties looks somewhat uncertain now. The Republicans will continue to pussify themselves in an attempt to find more demographic strength, essentially running on a policy of "me too!" while the left will likely fracture at some point with identity politics infighting.

The Democrats are now heralded by the liberal media to be the only relevant party nationally but they've fractured and lost a lot of strength before, such as when the New Deal Coalition broke apart. It can quite easily happen again. Like Roosh said, they eat their own, and #thatcantgoon.
