Seeking private fligth exchange
Does anyone from you know an online platform on which I can look for flights from e.g. Phoenix to Tucson with a private aircraft and private pilot?

I'm aware of platforms like http://www.theflightexchange.com, Netjets and http://www.shareajetexchange.com but their charges are astronomical. There must be an alternative or is this an (yet) uncovered niche?

Thx!

RE: Seeking private fligth exchange
I have never flown on a private jet, but wouldn't driving from Phoenix to Tucson be just as efficient on time and a lot more economical? Not trying to be a smart ass, it's just here in Texas it doesn't make sense to fly unless the drive would be 3hrs or more.

Your example of http://www.theflightexchange.com for empty legs and http://www.shareajetexchange.com for ride sharing would reduce the price but at the cost of flexibility. You'd no longer be able to say exactly when you want to leave, which is one of the major benefits of flying private. To me you're better flying commercial if you have to change your schedule to make the flight.

You may not understand how expensive it is to own and maintain a jet. There are 135 compliance/conformity costs, hanger, insurance, fuel, engine and avionics maintenance programs, pilot type ratings, etc.

There have been companies that have tried to implement a type of taxi service between two cities but I haven't heard of anything taking off yet.
