I'm sure we've all met this guy...

He's an uber-socialite who loves to barge in and monopolize conversations. You'll be talking to somebody and suddenly - BANG! - there he is. He invites himself in with no respect for what you're doing. He'll change topics, talk over you, tell embarrassing stories about you, and put you on the spot. He doesn't mean to be an asshole, he just doesn't care what comes out of his mouth and he doesn't know when to shut the fuck up! "Cock-blocker"? That's an understatement.

Last night I turned down an invitation to go to a party with a roommate like this because I figured he'd pull his old routine and ruin my night. I decided to hit the local bars with no success. I came home to sounds of him fucking some chick in his room below me.

FUCK.

This guy'll be moving out soon, but I need to know how to deal with arrogant and boisterous people like this. I need to figure out a way to knock these people out of conversations without coming off like an asshole to everyone else around.

When he interrupts you, say:

"Excuse me, but we were having a friendly conversation here which you just rudely interrupted. Who taught you to be so anti-social."

This line is basically what Roosh has written about. It's supposed to work on girls. You can try it out on a guy...as long he's not the type who gets angry and start fights.

In all fairness it sounds like the situation you're describing is an alpha male treating you as a beta orbiter. You're there, but he's dominating because its his nature.

Best thing I've done in the past is to ignore the women for a time, and talk to that guy directly. Build rapport with him, most alphas are rarely complete dicks and will genuinely help a brother out.

Chances are the guy isn't trying to shut you out, its just happening, but if you build rapport with him then he might even actively pull you into conversations.

After you've gotten just a little friendly buy him one beer, I bet the night goes great after that.

This sounds a lot like me lol, sorry dude... although I try not to cockblock, depending on who the guy is, and how in play the girl is.

My advice to CC, is to learn to be louder, more interesting, and ultimately more entertaining. I've been on the other side when it's hard to get a word in edge wise, and sometimes you just have to start talking over the other person, and then start making harmless jokes about everything they say, often that puts you back in the driver's seat.

Well apparently whatever this guy is doing that you find annoying, the ladies don't have an issue with, because he's getting pussy, and you're coming home alone with nothing to look forward to but some left-hand love.

Maybe you should be taking notes instead of "hating" on his game.

This is one of the biggest revelation for me when I got into all of this. I used to hate on and put down (in my head of course) other guys who did things that I saw as "wrong" or "douchy"

Once I realized that regardless of my current opinions, they got what I wanted, I started paying attention.
