When a girl pushes for your commitment/exclusivity
Been sleeping with this girl for 3 months, seeing her once a week. Naturally, she just asked me where we're at. She then told me that she's not okay with me seeing other people/going on dates with others (I haven't been mainly due to lack of time from other commitments) and if I were to do that, I have to let her know because she'd then be out of this because she doesn't want to waste her time.

I see potential with this one with some potential redflags. I reluctantly said fine I won't see anyone else but I said I won't jump into an official relationship until much later because I don't do that unless I'm fairly certain something long term can work out.

There's one aspect of not jumping onto the first woman that shows interest in you (although I was going on a bunch of dates with different women at around the same time I first met her) but another aspect is what the forums here have been talking about recently which: if you find a potentially decent one, don't give into your hedonistic impulses and move onto the next one again and again like some sort of junkie addicted to the thrill of new tail. I ended a really serious, intense LTR not too long ago which fell apart unfortunately so I'm not completely ready to jump into something serious right away. I also want to bang some hot strange tail but I realize that doesn't lead to any sort of long term happiness.

I mean if she brought this up at the one month mark I would have said been more firm with saying it's too soon to give any time of commitment but at the 3 month mark, I don't think it's too unreasonable to want some sort of exclusivity.

What do you guys think?

This isn't exactly your situation, but it may be food for thought:

This question comes up all the time. I remembered being a noob and asking my mentor this. He laughed: why are you letting a woman dictate the term of your relationship?

It sounds simple, but read it again then reflect upon it.

You dont owe this girl ANYTHING. If she wants to be your girlfriend, she has to earn it, not demand it. Who the fuck does she think she is to make demand like that? You are also not obligated to tell her anything. You could agree to it but keep chasing tail on the side. Honor and integrity are male concepts, they have no place in dealing with women because women will not do the same to you.

Done. Go chase tail on the side while still be in a "relationship" with her. If the girl isn't making you say "hell yes" she is not LTR material.

Quote:if you find a potentially decent one,

She is not because of the above. So I guess that answers your problem.

No reason feeling bad doing this. I hope you are also smart enough to know that you are not the only one she is seeing.

Game on player. Remember, you dont HAVE to do anything.

Dalaran1991 is right on.

"why are you letting a woman dictate the term of your relationship?". End of discussion.

RE: When a girl pushes for your commitment/exclusivity
My advice:
Tell her you like seeing her and being with her. However, you do not feel that you can commit now, due to your "work load".
She can be your #1 girl.

If you have the time - spin other plates. Otherwise - make her think you might be spinning.

You probably have a moral code which includes "Not lying".
Just don't tell the whole truth, in that case.
