RE: Milo Yiannopoulos Thread
Very frustrating to be there while it happened. A bunch of supporters wanted to go up to the stage and get those fuckers out of there, but the cops were standing 20 feet away ready to arrest anyone who tried. It's like they were there to protect the protesters. Never seen anything like it my whole life. Pretty sure DePaul wanted this exact situation to play out.

Milo has an aversion to security. It was only a matter of time until the freaks exploited this vulnerability. Milo needs to start hiring goons. Since it is unacceptable for him to cancel future appearances, and the cops refuse to help, the only answer is private security. It's the exact same scenario as a labour dispute. When the cops refuse to help the company move trucks through a strike picket line, the company has to hire goons to bust the line. Shutting down a business in the face of intimidation is not an option. Same concept applies to Milo's speeches. Milo needs goons.

RE: Milo Yiannopoulos Thread
Private security beyond basic yellow t-shirt "event staff," who are not trained in close protection, is very expensive. I don't think Milo is getting paid for speaking and travel fees from these schools, so I'm sure it's a matter of affordability.
If you ask a firm to provide a detail for what Milo faced at DePaul, they'd recommend AT LEAST three guys and a driver. $300+ an hour for 8 hour coverage and you can see why he doesn't have guards.
The police also won't guard you or prevent assault, even if you've been threatened, but theoretically they should make arrests after the law is broken. They will also set up perimeters around events if public safety is threatened, but it's bare bones stuff. You absolutely cannot count on police to protect you in quasi riot scenarios.

I agree. But he shouldn't let costs be a barrier to future events, and he shouldn't proceed without security. He needs his security costs covered, and he should seek crowdfunding. I know he also has an aversion to seeking remuneration for his events, but if he pledges to keep the fundraising to covering costs only, his followers will trust him. I know I would.

This is 100% accurate and the same phenomenon plays out in strikes. I like your use of the word "theoretically" above. When protesters get arrested for criminal acts during strikes, the cases are "shelved" until the labour dispute is over, at which point the union ALWAYS negotiates for the dropping of charges and the company ALWAYS capitulates because there is no financial gain in seeing criminal charges through, and the strike is then over. And the police are political creatures (the very word "police" is derived from "policy"), not security operatives. In reality, security is not their top priority. Enforcing the will of their political masters is. They are just minions. The flimsy possibility of arrest and subsequent criminal charges by police will NOT deter Milo's protesters. The protesters don't fear or respect cops, and why should they?

I'll admit there was an element of excitement when Milo's talk devolved into a surly march through campus, but watching the interaction (or lack thereof) between the protestors and cops/security was incredibly frustrating - as Diop notes.
This idiot hijacks the stage, and blows his whistle for 15 minutes, alternately chanting "DUMP THE TRUMP" and "HE'S AN IDIOT." He's got a forum, a mic, a full hall of 500+ people with all eyes on him. Here's his chance to drop some truth, point out where Milo has ever said "black lives don't matter," turn our worldview on its head for supporting this dangerous faggot. Does he do any of this? Nope. He just blows the goddamn whistle while his chick throws a temper tantrum onstage. This is why no one takes "Black Lives Matter" seriously. They don't even take themselves seriously.
Lost in all the craziness was the lone black woman who protested the protesters. She rightly calls out BLM and gets labeled a "white supremacist." Unreal.

You're assuming that his goal was to get a message of his own out. That is NOT the case here. His sole objective was to interfere with Milo getting Milo's message out. That's why this is a violation of the First Amendment. The right to freedom of speech is not simply the right to speak, it also includes the right to LISTEN to the speech of others. If BLM was interested in a debate, you KNOW Milo would debate them. That is NOT what they are interested in. They are only interested in SILENCING Milo. So when BLM or Trigglypuff tries to claim the right to free speech when they are screaming hysterically in an effort to drown out Milo, they are mistaken about the subtleties of the First Amendment. Hysterical screaming is not protected. Milo has a right to speak and his attendees have the right to listen to him. That's why the event is organized and advertised... so everyone knows the nature of the event and those who are triggered and offended have the option of NOT ATTENDING.

RE: Milo Yiannopoulos Thread
Is anyone else finding it odd that the Huffington Post is actually reporting this with an accurate headline?
Quote:University Admins Surrender to Violent Protesters, Shutter Event
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/univ...53ae7b5ae3
It is also reporting something that I haven't seen elsewhere, that the cops were ready to do their jobs, and the administration stopped them:
Quote:I talked to a few of the dozen Chicago police officers eventually called into the building, and they were irate. They were well-trained, and well-equipped to handle scenarios such as this. They wanted to do their job, and remove the protesters, but administrators demanded they stand passively and watch. Once again, violence prevailed over free speech on a liberal college campus, and the administration was 100% complicit.
Good job from reporter Michael Sitver. Surprising that he wasn't forced to follow the party line. Reading something truthful and honest from the Huffington Post is disconcerting. Almost feels like the site has been hacked.

All these corporate "news" outlets are now going to do a fast pivot to the right to try to avoid the fallout from the Facebook censorship mess. Notice how Cuckerberg is now throwing his own employees under the bus in his best Captain Ahab impression.

RE: Milo Yiannopoulos Thread
I can confirm in talking to a Chicago Police officer on the street that yes they did arrest one protester but were told to stand down and not remove any protesters from the event. She was totally sympathetic to us, agreeing that there is a complete double standard. She also brought up what happened at the Trump rally earlier this year. The funny thing is, is that even though on the youtube videos, they can seem so intimidating since there are so many of them and they're so angry, I never once felt scared being amongst those idiots on the street. Diop was walking with me and he wasn't scared either. None of us were. All around me, people were chanting "Black Lives Matter" so at one point I started chanting back "No they don't". I had one puny little fool get mad but no one else did shit to me. I also later on started chanting "Trigglypuff" and I had a bunch of people look at me but again, no one did shit. These people are the most pathetic looking, weak saps and their only way to scare people is when they're in a large mob, together.
Roosh, I'm most likely going to Cleveland, and I know Forney is going. Forgot to ask the others.

Since when the fuck do university administrators get to tell police what they can and can't do?
Milo was assaulted, and the police did not uphold the law because they were told not to by regular citizens with day jobs?
The next time I decide to split someones head I'll be sure to tell the police to kick rocks and mind their fuckin business.
