In communities such as this one, we have years and years of case studies of everyday men and their trials and tribulations with the opposite sex. This particular series is so special because it takes a look at those who society has deemed to be more special than us "mere mortals", and yet even though these men are adorned and worshiped by society at-large, validating their lionized status, they still get played by women in this anthropomorphic game of Chutes and Ladders.

The star of Volume VI of Rich and Famous Men Still Get Played, is NBA player Andre Iguodala, whose career reached an apex last year when he won NBA Finals MVP as a member of the Golden State Warriors.

While his story is a broken record -- rich Black athlete finds himself cutting massive checks to a Black hip-hop video/stripper thot for pushing out one of his bastard children -- it still serves a cautionary tale, in this case with some unsual wrinkles that aren't found in the typical scenarios involving professional athletes, celebrity-chasing thots, and the foreseeable volatility of the collision of their respective human particles.

The Players

Andre Iguodala



As an NBA fan, I've never been a huge fan of Andre Iguodala's game. For a time in his career, he was considered the best player on some treadmill, non-contending teams, and he was paid like a superstar despite never really living up to superstar billing. With that being said, he's had a great career for a player who the Philadelphia 76ers chose 9th overall in the 2004 NBA Draft.

That year, Lute Olson, his head coach at Arizona, and ESPN college basketball analyst Dick Vitale thought the 6'6 swingman was making a mistake.

"Iggy", as he is known by his fans, can look back and laugh his way to the bank, as he is currently in his 12th year in the league with the Golden State Warriors, serving as a key reserve for a team that some believe have the potential to be a dynasty.

As a professional athlete, Iguodala has signed league contracts at a value exceeding $120 million, and after his current contract expires at the end of the 2016-2017 season, he'll be a 33-year old veteran with championship experience and should be able to extend his career at least a couple more years, provided he remains healthy and productive.

Christina Guttierez



Iguodala met Christina Guttierez, his high school sweetheart, mother to his first child, and current wife, while the two were track athletes in high school in Springfield, Illinois.

Guttierez gave birth to his only son early into Iguodala's career. She has kept a rather-low profile, suggesting that she's just been a supporter of his career and a benefactor of his wealth due to being in a relationship with him and having his child.

She finally became his wife last year after a picturesque wedding in Mexico.

Clayanna Warthen



Iguodala cheated on Guttierez when he started smashing Warthen during his rookie year in Philadelphia. Back then, she was what we know of now as a Hip-Hop Video Hoe/Instagram Model/Club Thot -- there are even rumors that she was stripping at one point in her life. Even today, as she is nearly 30 years old and a single mother, one look at her Facebook and Twitter accounts suggests that she is still trying to get her model on.

However, her story was that she was a college graduate with a degree in Criminal Justice and a blossoming model career, one that she believed would make her a millionaire, and law school to fall back on in case it didn't work out. "Unfortunately", in 2009, after a six-year relationship that culminated in her giving birth to Iguodala's daughter, London, i.e. the procreation of a winning Powerball ticket, she claimed that her "dreams" were put on hold indefinitely.

How much of that is believable, I'll let you decide.

Her Facebook page only lists the high school she attended in Jersey. I highly doubt one would take the time to list their high school information, while leaving out the fact that they also graduated from college. Furthermore, the modeling career is DOA at her age, and she still hasn't bothered to go to law school. One plus one does equal two. Just saying.

The Money Grab
The money grab initially began after she gave birth to London, which was shortly after Iguodala signed a six-year, $80 million contract with the 76ers. At the time, she claimed Iguodala was only providing her with $3,000-$4,000 a month, and she sued him for child support of $12,000-$15,000 a month, she won $18,000.

Fast forward half a decade, and she's trying to win her second championship before Andre does. Now, she is once again back in court, in an attempt to get the monthly child support raised from $18,000 to $58,000.

Her claim is that their six-year old daughter, London, is a genius with an IQ of 151, which would put her in the top 97% in this country, and the current child support isn't enough to provide for her educational needs.

Raise your hand if you believe that one.

Furthermore, she is trying to embarrass Iguodala by making claims that he is an absentee father and has made alleged ignorant statements about not wanting his daughter to play basketball because he doesn't want her to become a lesbian.

Where Do They Go From Here
Whether or not you believe anything Baby Mama #2 has to say, Iguodala is likely going to lose this battle. This particular money grab is important because his big money days in the NBA are coming to an end. He has one more year on his contract after this season that will pay him over $11 million, but given his age and impact on the game, even if he gets another contract after the 2016-2017 campaign, it will be nowhere near that level of money. For now, he's still making it, so she's still taking it.

Pour Conclure
Hopefully Andre Iguodala has been somewhat intelligent with his money, because he's cooking a dangerous stew that could feed him into a starring role in ESPN's 30 for 30 : Broke Part Deux. Regardless he's on the hook for the high-school sweetheart who gave birth to his only son, and he'll have to keep cutting checks to the mother of his genius daughter for at least the next 12 years.

Most professional athletes, especially the Black ones, do themselves in with illegitimate children and the excess from their individual success. Iguodala damn sure isn't the first, and he damn sure won't be the last. As long as there are careless and uneducated short-lived new money men finding themselves caught up with highly-ambitious thots who understand the concept of timing and how to make their faces the prettiest and their asses the fattest, their respective human particles will collide.

The party with the lionized status will be the catalyst for the dreams of the have-nothing nobody with unusual curves and a wet box, while the wet box will be the change in PH that slows down the catalyst, until it just fuckin' stops.

By 2017, there needs to be a system where all child support goes on a card. And can only be used for certain items - depending on the kids age. You swipe it to buy formula, diapers, certain sizes of clothes. Baby food and up to nutritional food when they can eat, perhaps school tuition etc.

But try and buy clear, 6-inch high heels - BRRRRRRRRR. A loud buzzer goes off and the sale is denied. A Louis Vuitton handbag extra big - BRRRRRRRRRRRRR. Get outta here bitch, a speaker announces. Try and use it at Starbucks and it disables the card for two hours.

EBT/Food Stamp cards supposedly work that way, merchants that accept them have to put protections into what can be bought into their POS system so you can't just buy candy and other shit at Walmart with it.

Is it any surprise when uneducated, unworldly, low impulse men who earn their fortunes through use of their bodies (vs their minds) get played by shrewd women? This is what, like the millionth case study? I mean, there is a goddamn pattern of this happening like clockwork amongst professional basketball players and instead of adjusting behaviour or taking risk mitigating actions these "players" keep getting played. At this point, I say good for the woman. If someone is practically begging you to take advantage of them you'd be remiss not to. Perhaps LeBron James should hold some workshops on how to grow wealth and ensure a legacy.

Also, I keep hearing about this happening in basketball and football. Does this happen in other sports, like baseball and hockey?.

I understand where you're coming from, but there's one aspect that you're not seeing in that scenario: NBA ballers and NFL star are almost always getting trapped by Black Women. Unfortunately, the Matriarchy is well implanted in the Black community, so a women being a single mom is like a regular Tuesday over there! Some NHL players like Pat Kane and Tyler Seguin have a serious reputation for laying lots of pipe around. And Raw pussy is raw pussy man , so I'm sure they sometimes slay it without a rubber.

I watched a doc on Netflix a while back called 30 for 30: Broke about the various reasons why professional athletes go broke. Women were chief among the many reasons (disingenuous "friends" and family, bad investments, and injuries being among the others). Bottom line, athletes need Game off the court just as much as on.
