Facebook and it's nasty effect on pregnancy
With the emergence of facebook and social media there was sharp decline in the pregnancy rate.

RE: Facebook and it's nasty effect on pregnancy
I thought the nasty effect was having your news feed thing filled with baby pictures from a bunch of women with whom you were vaguely acquainted back in high school.

Whenever a woman announces her pregnancy on Facebook I unfollow her immediately.

Take attention away from attention whores and all that is left is whores.

Hmmmm, new parents don't get as much attention on Facebook. In fact, there's a way to cull out those stupid baby pics:

The attention economy and this is a consequence.

RE: Facebook and it's nasty effect on pregnancy
OP, that's an interesting find. Judging from the graph, it seems highly probable that there is a correlation between Facebook use and teenage pregnancy, but I wonder what could be the mechanism that causes this?

Could it be that:

1) the suggested reason is valid - teenagers spend less time socializing, which makes them less likely to engage in sex;

or

2) the effect Facebook and social media have on female entitlement and narcissism is so strong that it both increases young women's pickiness when it comes to men, as well as amplifies their push into hipergamy?

Meaning, not only do modern teenage girls have an even bigger need for alphas than their counterparts from the previous generation, but their pickiness regarding those alphas is also drastically increased, all due to technology. This could also help explain the diminishing number of teenagers that are sexually active, as only alphas can realistically compete for today's young women, and even they will encounter increased resistance in the form of Princess Bitch syndrome.

I don't like facebook or people spending their days on smartphones either, but this is bogus.
As always: correlation does not equal causation. Next.

Just a hunch, I bet something that happened in the UK around that time that made the pill easy to obtain.

Both, but 2) more than 1).

RE: Facebook and it's nasty effect on pregnancy
OP, I refer you to this.

"I can count on one hand, literally, the number of women I have ever met that can take that kind of advice, accept it and make use of it without their epic egos setting metaphorical fire to the conversation.

Most women "looking for advice" are in reality looking for someone to validate their cosmic victimhood, because it's not really their fault, because it's never their fault. This behavioural trait isn't absent among men, but when we fail society cares not, while when women fail there is no shortage of comforting platitudes on offer from every vector.
"

Probably a good thing that people who are addicted to FB have fewer kids. They would be terrible fucking parents.
