Women as friends.
I've always wondered how other on this forum feel about this subject.
Personally I've always felt I could never be friends with a girl unless there was some kind of romance involved. I can't recall a long term friendship with a girl where there wasn't any romance of the sort. (besides sister and thats bitter as is) However eventually all these relationships come to an end because either I or they get interested in taking it to another level where it eventually ends sooner or later.
I feel like a women can't provide a mutual benefit (besides sex) that would make a friendship last like all my good guy friends have .
The only women I currently see working out long term is a future wife .

Also

tldr: male instincts always wants "more" in relationship , only way to really be long term friends with a women is to think like a women.

(fyi - this thread was sparked by the ending of a 3 year friendship with the girl that caused me enough insanity to dive me to this forum)

Adam says to God, "God, why did you make women so soft ?"
God says, "So that you will like them."
Adam says to God, "God, why did you make women so warm and cuddly?"
God says, "So that you will like them."
Adam says to God, "But, God, why did you make them so stupid?"
God says, "So that they will like you"

The only friend girl I have has 145 iq, runs a dept at a major University and has taken a mile of cock even though she be six. Still hoping to get a good man. But she cool, and exceedingly nice. Probably will make some man happy, if she lowers her standards

Depends, but if you're goal is to "be friends" with a girl hoping she'll one day realize how "nice" you are I would not recommend this.

Guys and girls are intrinsically different… If sex is off the table I just can't see a scenario where they are a better friend than a guy.

RE: Women as friends.
I had a girl best friend in high school.

She tried to get me to bang her, even had it out with her on top of me but I kept pushing her away.

Looking back, I was a big pussy in those days.

After that, no matter what I tried I couldn't bang her.

It's almost like she dangled it before my nose and rubbed it in my face from that day forward.

I don't think she did it consciously.

Years later she came and stayed with me for a few days and I thought I would rectify the situation once and for all.

But instead I somehow became her shoulder to cry on about her jock ex-boyfriend.

So on that day I decided that this relationship was unsalvageable and I completely broke contact with her.

I was fed up with a dynamic that made me feel like a chump, and knowing it was my fault, and still subjecting myself to this friend zone torture for no reason.

I did get one interesting take away from her.

I've always been deeply curious about women, even when I was a lowly beta, and I've always asked lots of questions.

This girl was Eastern European (Russian) and had a phenomenal capacity to throw fits, invent daunting shit tests on the spot, and flip on a dime.

She was also really good at being manipulative using her sexuality.

So I asked her how her alpha ex-boyfriend (who was a jock in college and became some kind of high-powered professional, a lawyer I think) - I asked her how he reacted when she would flip out and act cray.

She said he was just look at her bemusedly, laugh in her face and say "really?" and just tease her until she felt childish for having a fit.

I've always remembered that tidbit of alpha wisdom and it's served me well.

Asking a girl "are you finished?" after she going on some rant or shit test, and not really taking her seriously is a great move as well.

EDIT
On topic, women can be useful as friends IF they are willing to introduce you to their hottest friends to help you in your quest to get bangs. If they aren't willing to do that, then they are not really that useful, ya know?

"Female friends" are any 8+ you don't get laid with. They're arm candy and good to bring with you when you're out in the group. Of course you're doing the minimal amount of work to maintain these "friends".

Hot girls always gets you more hot girls because they'll follow you around if they don't know why you aren't hitting on them/being a cockblock, and any girl whom sees them following you around knows you're worth shit.

Essentially they're useful for stuff like that, free models in case you need them for whatever, ways to spruce up your Tinder photos, etc. etc. etc. Anything that allows for you to benefit from their looks without truly giving them shit. Never expect camaraderie, loyalty, or any other virtue of male friendship from a woman.

RE: Women as friends.
I had one who was generally slick enough to keep me friendzoned for years in 12th grade and through college. I still dated other people and she did too. We stayed in touch after I went away to finish school. One year when I came home for Christmas, she had broken up with her BF 2 months prior. And I had started dating someone around the same time. It was the first time I had a serious GF while she was seriously single (i.e. a solid, thin 7 with 0 options on the table at the moment.) She blew my fucking phone off the hook the Christmas. Being the nice guy that I was, I kept her at arm's length because I didn't want to cheat on the new GF. At that point I could have had her by merely snapping my fingers and pointing at my dick. A while later it was back to how it had always been and then in '06 we lost touch. Reconnected last year when a few schoolmates died tragically. She's now married (and bored with him) and has two kids. We text for an hour or two every few months. She only weighs about 5lbs more than she did when she finished high school 20 years ago. (115 vs 100) which is pretty damn impressive for having had two kids and living the suburban lifestyle. She gets grandfathered in because she stayed thin, and I've known her for 20+ years. But post red pill, women don't anything more than a mention as an acquaintance only they're doing something for my dick.

In the past, sure.

These days, no.

When I look at women now, the first word that pops in my head is "drama".

They can be wonderful creatures. But they are all drama. Not what I'm looking for when it comes to friends.

RE: Women as friends.
So for a short period in my life I had all chick friends. This was after a falling out with my band, who I considered brothers. Being friends with only girls was a real eye opener, and great learning experience getting to know how they think. Don't get me wrong, this was no walk through the poosy paradise.

Obviously they bitch and moan, can't make decisions, say one thing/do another, how they select their men, the in fighting, backstabbing, and jealousy. But knowing how to use it to your own advantage was a critical step. Sometimes I was "pimped" out. Girls wanting dirt on other girls would give me good reviews to make the other girls want me. I was more or less shared by three friends all using my dick to make the others jealous.

It was an interesting and dark time. While I learned alot, I wish I could take back majority of that time.

She was a borderline 7 and she would but they were always ugly. its tough being openly shallow but she would never help me get a hottie.

From what I read, seems like its women friendship only work if there hot with attractive friends to basically fuck. If they don't provide fking one way or another then the friendship is a negative factor bring me down by wasting time.

From my experience, alot of time have been wasted on female friendship with returns behing near garbage . Would it be too big of statement to say I'll NEVER try to be best friend with a girl ever?

RE: Women as friends.
"Female friend" is an oxymoron as far as I'm concerned, as there are only two kinds of women to me, the ones I'm involved with, and the ones I'm not.

There essentially two reasons why this is an oxymoron to me:

1. Any woman that looks decent and/or has a decent persona is one that I'll want to bang, there's no and, ifs or buts about it.

2. Women... simply aren't compelling to have as friends. I think to myself, "have I had a conversion with a woman that was as lulzy or intellectually stimulating as with a dude?" and the answer is, nope. That's on top of the kind of camaraderie you have with your boys just isn't there with a girl that's your "friend". If it wasn't for physical sexual attraction, women of reproductive age would receive as much attention from me as elderly women in their 70s and 80s.

I can be good acquaintances with women, but I'll always maintain boundaries/distance with them if for whatever reason I can't get with them.

I've had good friendships in the past, but that was because they were logical and high IQ. I also didn't find them attractive.

I've heard from older men that it can become easier to have female friends once sex drives die down and the women gain some maturity.

RE: Women as friends.
In my world, a woman can only be your "friend" in 2 situations

1.
You have already banged her in the past and would bang again (but don't need to)

2.
She is too old, or too unattractive, and you really don't want to bang her, but she provides other important non sexual benefits
(money, favors, car journeys, accommodation, food, access to important/influential people)

BOTTOM LINE:
You should NEVER be "friends" with a woman you want to bang without making it crystal clear to her that you want to bang her.

I'll be friends with anyone of any gender as long as they bring some value to my life and are pleasant/fun to be around.

Even if its a woman I wouldn't mind banging, I have enough options/abundance mentality to not get obsessed over a single attractive chick. It's an easy mindset to have when you realize that most women (especially in the US) are worthless as LTR prospects.

Female friends are great for social circle game but make terrible companions.

The key is you can't become friends with them in hopes of banging. You also have to run standard game on them and remember to remain masculine. I like being seen around town with a crew of hot chicks all the time.

Coming from a man who genuinely loves the company of woman, even when they're infuriating by male standards:

It doesn't have to be either / or. Both sexes have their own strengths and qualities. No, it won't be similar to hanging with your male friends, but you shouldn't expect it to be. Too many younger guys seem to have their wires crossed and are looking for a relationship with a girl who they can play video games and drink beer with, when what they're looking for is, really, another dude.

Let them be feminine, and remain masculine. I don't expect to have the same conversations with them I might have with a man, but I'm happy to engage with the things that interest them to the level I can enjoy them. I've bonded with women through shared tasks like work projects, sure, but particularly through creative pursuits like photography, acting, music, and art, where they're in their element. Try writing a song with a girl, even if you're not attracted to them. You'll probably have a good time. Remember: girls are social creatures and you never know who they might introduce you to.

Whilst I won't be interested in, say, going shopping with them, I'll go exercise with them, or share a coffee with them, even if they're meeting other women. I'm not going to join in on the girl gossip, but I will pipe up every now and then with a comment or steer the conversation to something more interesting. I enjoy it when they're talking about trivial things: they're being girls, not guys. They're allowed to be girls, and I don't try to pretend I'm one to 'fit in' with them better.

They'll sense there's always a remove between you and them, as there should be: "Oh, look how silly he thinks we're being". This is how you don't become a Neutered Man in their eyes: the male feminist, the friendzoned dweeb, the gay best friend. They know there's some topics they can't really engage a man on, though you can have some teasing fun if they ask for a man's opinion on a subject.

If they ask me for help in their lives, I'll help, just as if a male friend asked me. If I think I'm being taken advantage of, I possess the power to say 'No'. If they are overdramatic or manipulative, I have the power to reduce future interactions with them. I refuse to get dragged into bullshit drama and mean girl games, but I gravitate towards more traditionally-minded women with life experience. Even so, I don't expect to live up to male virtues, because they're not men, therefore, no I have illusions or disappointment.

Hell, I greatly-enjoy helping my elderly neighbour with her garden back home. We both share an interest in it, and her husband has slowed down a lot since his stroke and doesn't hear very well, so she enjoys having someone to talk to. We swap excess fruit and vegetables, and she's kind enough to step away whilst I'm doing the heavy work for her to prepare refreshments. Women of her generation are great conversationalists - charm is definitely a lost art amongst young women.

My oldest female friend goes back to high school: we both being given detention for not recognising petty authority bonded instantly by her saying "Is it crazy, or are we smarter than [the teachers]?" and realising we both hated everyone and everything, in that particular teenage fashion. That can be all it takes.

We never really dated, because neither of us we ever really single long enough for it to happen in the early days, and then we'd become family. I never felt the need to bang her because I had options, and so did she.

Over thirty years, we both fought diseases that humbled us in our twenties, I saw her get married; and have children. We've buried both parents and friends together.

She visited me in February after not having seen her for two years, and she squealed when she saw my greying beard, grabbing at it playfully and then pausing to look at me. "Oh, Bosch, when did we both get so, so old?"

"I like the grey. I like knowing I'm not twenty any more."

She patted my cheek. "It suits you. You're a Silver Bull."

It was a sweet moment due to the weight of years and the shared experience between us that creates a much different scene than it would with the male friendships I have that survive from that period: "Here comes Grandpa. Have your balls gone grey too Bosch?"

These differences between the sexes strike me as valuable for a man to experience. Stay open to possibilities. You don't gain skill with talking to women by only interacting with them purely on a sexual basis alone.

Credit to Sharkie here: not everything needs to be reduced to direct use and transactional value.

Solution: Find better male friends.

Even if a woman adds value to your life, she can never replace the camaraderie that is found with other men.

If you want to bask in feminine energy from time to time, there's nothing wrong with that. But it's not a substitute to putting in the work finding men of value to true friendship with.

You'll never have true friendship with a woman.

I don't mind having women as friends. They can be a valuable asset, as mentioned before.

Especially when hanging out with at least two of 'em, it's better for conversation.
